i don't know what to think so far... it's definitely better than the first game, but the controls are a huge let down. not only are they not as comfortable or detailed as goldeneye's (no max. turn zone, no separate ADS settings), they're not even as full as the first game's settings were. almost everything i disliked about the first game is still there, awkward vertical turning, no ability to minimize the dead zone, having to lock on to get any stability. i also don't like that you can't hold the crouch or iron sight buttons and have to toggle them, but from what i've seen downsight aiming is next to useless anyway.
you'd think being the guys who pioneered the whole OCD customization thing that they would have stepped it up to match what other FPS have done lately. the only true improvement i see is that the cursor isn't nearly as jittery, even with the sensitivity all the way up.
the good news is that the pistol is just as good as the first game, i went on a 9 killstreak with it in my first match! seems just as strong and accurate. maybe i'll get used to the controls as i go on, but they're definitely not as good as goldeneye's. ultima, i definitely wouldn't trade bond in for it, i'll put it that way.
I still have to wait until Friday. >_> But I might just skip C2 and buy some more 3DS games, the 3DS has stole my life! It blows the Wii out fo the water, and its a handheld! Its just simply amazing!
How are the maps looking for the online play? I think I'm gonna pick this up tomorrow if I dont have to work.
The maps that I've played so far are really good, actually. Better level designs and even the classics called Streets Prime are much better in design if if it's slight (I feel like the proportions are bigger).
the online seems to at least be fun so far, it connects quickly and hasn't given me any bugs yet.
Well, I've already had to reset 3 times thanks to online glitches. I've never had to do it that much in one day playing the first game. It's a good thing they're releasing updates this time.
My friend code is 4427-1827-3186, although it may be a while before I can add anybody back.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

They let you make the dead zone as big or small as you want measured in pixels. Doesn't that cover minimizing it? I agree with you on the vertical turning, though.
By the way, I checked the control settings from the first game so I could easily copy my preferences to this new one, and the only things missing in the 2nd game are adjusting the positioning of the image on your TV (and I don't understand why'd you change the default setting, anyway) and something called "turning style," (I think that's what it was called), which I had set to "Wii remote turning."

You lucky, lucky bar stewards. I bet you'll all be at the max level before I get my hands on this game. :/
And this: romulux wrote: no ability to minimize the dead zone Is it a fixed dead zone where you pick a default deadzone? Like CoD:WaW where it had "Small", "Medium" and "Large" Deadzones. Or is it fully customizable, like GoldenEye or CoD:MWR? Where you can slide it up and down, side to side to anywhere you want.
Because if its fixed, I probably won't pick it up, I want control over my Dead Zones I'm afraid... having default Dead Zones where the game does it for you? I'm sorry, but I had to put up with that in CoD:WaW, I don't want to go through that bull again.
Is someone gonna make a friends list like grenworthshero did with GE? Not sure if it's needed now but I'm pretty sure alot of people will be adding soon.

The dead zone is perfectly customizable. It (and some other control options) for some strange reason just aren't listed in the regular options menu. You have to go to "Control Options" from the "Profile" menu.

@Tech, I would be a terrible choice for keeping the list updated. About the only thing I know what to do with the computer is point and click, and yell at my wife if I cant figure something out. Lol
LMAO, are you still updating the 3DS list? Man, who knows how many more people are gonna buy that thing, that list is gonna be hugh.

red steel 2 and the prime trilogy let you completely turn the dead zone off, so that any movement off center gets you to start turning. goldeneye and conduit instead have a minimum box you can set and then no more shrinking can be done, so there's always a little space at the center to move the cursor without turning at all. i'd never turn the dead zone all the way off, but i think they should have given you the option to shrink it further, given that other games have.
i'm just surprised that they don't seem to care that other companies have outdone them in the control/customization department, considering that was their big thing that made the conduit a relative success. i think goldeneye's scheme is a big step up from the first conduit and conduit 2 didn't do anything to close the gap other than add the motion +, which doesn't help much unless you aim off screen (granted conduit 2 is much, much, MUCH less glitchy than GE).

Setting the look options on both axes to "always" achieves that effect.
