Can't set the DZ to 0? I loved 0 DZ in CoD:MWR, it took a lot of skill to use and without the need of waiting for it to hit the end of your DZ to turn.

GE's minimum 10-10 is pretty lame... I'll think about picking it up for sure, but maybe a review will be handy, I don't want to enter a game and be peeved with it, like the original Conduit.

Setting the look options on both axes to "always" achieves that effect.

all that 'look' does is add a snapback effect so that if you quickly look left the camera will snap back right to help recenter better, it doesn't effect the dead zone.

maybe they can add more options with a patch? i don't know. that would shut me up.

Everything can beat RS2. That game was short and fairly boring. :/

I'm gonna see if I can get it on cheap.

What ways make it not better than GE specifically? (minus the deadzone stuff cuz I don't even understand that)

I dunno, but to me Conduit 2 is jittery than GE. And people lag a lot (some don't but seriously, GET OFF DIAL UP).then

One time, this person disappeared and then reappeared and then.. disappeared. then reappeared and was shooting at me. And I died.. Because I was SOOO confused...

"Please wait- migrating host."
ohhhh.... hohoho.... i could do things to this game right now... things men aren't supposed to do with a compact disc.

aside from a few people teleporting/jittering all over the screen and disappearing like komicturtle said the online runs ok for me so far, but there is monster lag with the scoring. in the VIP (heroes) mode i'd kill a guy and get the 'assassination' bonus a full minute later. i'm happy as long as i get the bonus, but it's pretty jarring how delayed some things are.

i also find the objective modes confusing... in goldeneye it's always clear who's the hero, in this game i have no idea. i can't even tell if i'm the VIP or not, it just doesn't really make things like that clear.

it's just not quite as polished. (aside from the bugs) goldeneye just feels right, the guns, levels, art direction, controls, everything is really high quality. with conduit 2 it's more hit or miss, sometimes it looks and plays great, sometimes not. the single player game isn't quite as good overall and the music is pretty bad, especially against goldeneye's orchestrated score. you can definitely tell which one was made by a big company with tons of resources and which one was made by just a bunch of guys in illinois, in good ways and bad ways.

that said, the fact that high voltage bothered to put in host migration and patching shows that they care much more about supporting their fans. seeing those features in action today made even more upset with eurocom for not doing the same when it was obviously possible.

They better patch the lag >_< It isn't OMG awful but man, Goldeneye runs 10x smoother. Conduit 2 will not replace Goldeneye by a long shot. I hope things are fixed. I like the game but I wasn't really looking forward to it all that much. Frankly, I was more excited about Goldeneye than Conduit 2. It's a good game with great concepts that will hopefully be fixed in the long run.

lol Sorry, but that's funny. I tried playing Conduit 2 with the Classic Controller and man... I seriously can't go back to analogue. It's tacky for first-person shooters. Motion Controls (pointer specifically) and FPS need to be the only option because of how perfect they work together (at least if the developer makes things work RIGHT). Mouse&Keyboard and Motion Controls FTW.

Enjoy playing your FPS's with crappy Wii controls.

It seems like every game that comes out for the wii they will give it hell because of the motion controls. If the game gives you the option to use a classic/gamecube controller or a wii mote I always choose the wii mote. Games that use Motion controls well are Punch-out, SSX Blur, Excite Bots/Truck, Manhunt 2, Metroid, GE, Boom Blox and No More Heroes and a bunch of others but these are some of my favorites. The Wii mote will always beat out Dual analog no question about it.

They way you guys talk about the Conduit 2 I'm kinda on the fence whether or not I should buy it. I would rent it first but it takes forever for the stores to get any new games in.

iPad/iTouch FPS controls... Eh, have fun with that.

It's worth a rent now. Until they patch the online with some latency issues (which isn't too bad but SOME people have horrible connections that they hop EVERYWHERE and some people are just 'normal').

I thought we were over Dial-up...?

unlike the first game i feel like this one is actually well worth the money. just because it's not quite as good overall as goldeneye doesn't mean it's not fun, i'm enjoying the online modes as much if not more than goldeneye's so far. it'll be even better if more of you guys buy it so we can party up, no host quits and full private matches anytime. the single player is where it sort of falls short, but online it's pretty solid.

@Komic You can't play console games online with dial-up can you? You HAVE to have a broadband connection, well that's what it says in every single manual for games with Wi-Fi connection.

I doubt many people have dial-up anymore anyways, its slow, takes ages to connect and is overall more expensive than Broadband.

All FPOS games for Wii should get 6 or below because of the Wiimote? I'm sorry but I can't play Metroid 1 or 2 on GCN anymore because of the dual analog controls, Wiimote is amazing for ALL FPS games, it might not have the horsepower as the PS360, but it sure is easier to use than fiddling around with 2 sticks.

@Rom LMAO at what you were doing with the CD. It's great having host migration eh? It sure beats GE in that department, updating too... more stuff to do (jump, prone(?) etc.

The new GoldenEye feels like a game that was made back in the 90s, its pretty basic with just crouch, walk/laggy run and sheety leveling.

lol, while I was mostly joking, there is one thing I really like about iDevice shooter controls: accuracy. Gameloft has it set up so dragging your right thumb on the screen moves the camera around (it's not a v-stick, so when you stop dragging the camera stops moving). It works if you're holding the fire button down too, so you can aim while firing. It feels so much more intuitive and accurate than dual analog. It's like pixel-perfect accuracy. <3

Of course you also have to deal with virtual buttons and crap, which can be infuriating at times. I've mostly gotten used to that by now though. Oh and yeah, I love Wii shooter controls.

maybe they can add more options with a patch? i don't know. that would shut me up.

Then how come when I changed that option (under "Camera Styles") to "Always," the camera moved whenever I moved the Wiimote? Setting it to "Crouched" does the same thing when crouched with the normal dead zone when standing. The Y axis has two more options, "With Dead Zone," which uses the normal dead zone both standing and crouched, and "Never," which eliminates vertical looking completely, even when pointing offscreen (or in other words, it extends the dead zone infinitely).

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.

Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

like i said, look is a snap sort of effect that exaggerates the camera's movement in response to your cursor movement. if you aim left, it'll flick the camera over more than normal so you can see in that direction faster. it technically makes the camera start turning sooner, but that doesn't mean the dead zone is any different. i personally can't stand it, so i leave it off.

the "use dead zone" option is actually the biggest reason i wish you could shrink the dead zone more. if you use that setting it gets rid of the vertical jitters and the game works better, but if you go up for a headshot the movement is really awkward; you move your cursor up to a person's shoulders and the camera doesn't move. then you get to his neck and suddenly the camera swings up above his head. the same thing happens when you try to aim back down to correct it, you'll just about near his head again and it'll swing back down to where you started. that little dead zone can really screw up aiming that way.
