games take a year or two to make, if 3rd parties are waiting on the success of the Switch before they start making games we wont see them till late 2018
@ValhallaOutcast True, however games don't take as long to port as we've already seen with titles like Snake Pass. They said it took them a few weeks to get it ready. With Unreal Engine, games can be ported in about 6 months time. Like I said, this is not the Wii U!
@ValhallaOutcast Yeah - my thoughts exactly I've heard that Nintendo didn't give third-parties early access to the Switch (at least not early enough) - which goes some way to explaining the lack of early announcements from third-parties...if Nintendo are concerned, they can always have the same conversation they had with Bethesda:
Bethesda: We're not sure we can bring our games to your new console
Nintendo: **Drops huge bag of yen on the table**
Bethesda: Where were we? Oh yeah - Skyrim Switch? When do you need it by?
@Megumi, lol, @Joeynator3000, mine is apparently a 2015 Model (by looking up the model number) and isn't affected by the problem. So maybe if it's older than that, you're safe?

@ValhallaOutcast Yeah - the hope, of course, is that the Switch will prove to be popular enough that the big third-parties will come of their own accord, but - as you pointed out - it'll take time (after the WiiU, it's no surprise that these companies have taken a 'wait and see' approach with the Switch) ..in the interim period, Nintendo could be tempted to 'drop some money bags' off at a few more places to ensure that there's a steady flow of AAA ports to tide us over - they've made such a big song and dance about the Switch's Unreal support that it wouldn't surprise me to see a few games that use that engine make a swift transition to the console...but if the Switch genuinely is 'the new Wii', developers will be falling over themselves to put games out for it!

At the end of the day publishers and shareholders are investing for the same reason. They put money in when they expect to make a return and take money out when they think things are going south. When the share price tanked we saw at the same time publishers cancelling projects on Nintendo's platforms. In the same way if people are buying Nintendo shares then publishers will be investing in games on Nintendo's platform. We can't predict what will happen next but using the only objective measure we have ....
@skywake Nintendo was quick to act on the 3ds and saved themselves. The ds just hit before the smart phone craze and became a huge success. The others never recovered. This is like Wii all over again because of word of mouth and of course Zelda (the highest rated game in a while) didn't hurt.

@Joeynator3000 Did you buy a charging grip separately, or are you talking about the regular grip that comes with the console?
Either way, it should be able to just fit in the same as the right JoyCon...
It came with the system, it's weird because the right one fits perfectly, but the other can't. I looked at the Grip and it seems normal as well as the joycons, so I've no idea what's going on...

@Joeynator3000 Ah, I see. Did you try attaching it to the tablet? If it attaches to that fine, then I'd assume it's probably a faulty grip rather than a faulty JoyCon. I don't know for sure, though.
Also, keep in mind that the grip that comes with the system doesn't charge the JoyCons.
