free will... Well every person is sinful, EVERYONE.
God is perfect, his followers are not. We sin, he doesn't.
he sent his son to die for our sins so we can go to heaven.

Actually I'm almost certain I'm perfect, I'd just like to think that's all me.

If you allow me I have a theory abot this, I think "God", being so great, does know all the outcomes from all the choices we could make, he doesn't know what choice we are gonna make, but he knows what is going to happen anyway.

My theory has the good side and the bad side having an epic, endless gunfight inside each person, and whoever is currently on top decides the if a person will make a good or bad choice.

Kind of like Team Fortress 2 where the goal is to control all the intelligence. Except here it's to control all the decisions.

That retarded priest theory came from the likes of Micheal Jackson.

That makes sense, I have a similar idea, but with a swordfight , still, the outcomes of those fights must lead to more than two different choices, after all life is not just black and white.

It is almost looking at the rule. "What ever goes around comes around." If you defeat the knight (not killing). You can choose whether to let live or let die. Living results to allegence. Killing results in war. Sins have outcomes too.

What theory? And what does Jackson have to do with it?

You're telling me priests committing heinous crimes is just a theory? Yeah I can find plenty of links to say otherwise.

You'd think an almighty power would try to keep his religion in a positive light.

@AlexSays-All I'm going to say is this, those priests are not TRUE CHRISTIANS. Just because they claim they are Christians ,does not mean they are. There are many false Christians and few true Christians. That's all I'm going to say for now...

Yes. God is perfect. He created all of us and everything. Everybody sins. It is part of life. Don't feel bad.

@SuperSonic
That is very true. Besides, I never looked at any of the child mellesters as christians. They mess up people's lives.

I'm not gonna answer this right now cause first I really wanna make sure that you're absolutely clear on what you're doing here... This is a slippery slope here and once sliding starts there's no turning back I'm afraid. This civil and friendly environment we have here will be irreversibly gone. If you really want to I can directly comment this but like I said before, I have no respect for religion. In fact, if the subject is brought up I have no qualms about mocking not only the religions themselves but also the practitioners aswell... Which I why I like to avoid the subject altogether, it's just not worth it. So how about we keep religious discussion to a bare minimum, ok?

Djung, if you dislike the topic so much, then simply avoid reading and posting in this thread, while the rest of us that do want to talk about it, can.

I will 'come out of the closet' and say that I am a believer in the infallible Word of the Living God (collection of books referred to as the Holy Bible), who sent His word into the womb of the virgin Miriam, which brought forth the Christ who lived the perfect life of obedience to his Father, and died the death as the lamb of God (the sacrifice for our sins). And rose again! And is seated at the right hand of the Father in the third Heaven and makes intercession for those who have repented of evil ways and trust and hope in God's mercy.

The moth evolution example mentioned by someone here is simply wrong. There were both variations of light and dark moths. When the birds came along, which do you think would have been seen more easily? That's right, the light ones (if they were on darkened trees). Anyway, variation within creatures occurs. Macro-evolution hasn't and doesn't.

Hey I'm just sayin', if I had endless amounts of power, I'd keep those "fake Christians" from defiling my religion.

If you're okay with the "Sit back and see what happens" approach that's fine but I'd want my "almighty power" to kick some ass and chew bubble gum.

I believe that God judges everybody according to their works good or bad. It will happen in the afterlife. Also, nobody is perfect at all. Jesus Christ took EVERYBODY'S SINS and died on the cross and he ressurected. Christianity dosen't require works, only belief and obeying God's commands. God does NOT approve of sin,but he gives them free will. He will judge a person after they die. That is what I believe.
I'm not going to force you to believe me or I'm not going to debate with you. I'm just stating what I believe, and you make your own decision. What do you believe in AlexSays?

@Alex: God is gracious enough to give us life, let alone free will. he loves everyone, even the murderers, etc. And he is not protecting His religion. Infact, you might just call Christianity a relationship- relationship with Jesus Christ. It's not about doing all the rituals to satisfy some ruthless God. God wants a relationship with everyone.

At the end of the day, all religions try to explain the unseen forces of the Universe.

The problem is unseen forces are inherently "unseen" thus we disagree about what is going on and unfortunately this has led to many wars and suffering in the name of God and Truth.

Wow, people arguing about religion and still no massive flame war. Why I love NLife.
Anyway, I believe that all religion was created by man for a purpose. For example, Judaism was created to stop people from hurting others ("Don't steal from the weak" carries a lot less strength than "don't steal from the weak or you will be punished in hell for eternity"), whereas Scientology was created for the profit (not just monetary) of L. Ron Hubbard.

I thank God that I am an Atheist...

Well, I am indeed an Atheist (although I call myself Naturalistic because most people seem to want to vent at those who label themselves Atheist... Actually, I call myself a Bright). I just think about how vast the Universe actually is, and then if there is a being that created it, it must be able to control all of it, down to every single atom - every, single, atom... in the Universe! - otherwise how could it have created all these things? I just find it too improbable to believe, therefore I don't follow any religion. I just think it is inherent to our human nature that we have to understand things, and the religions over the years have demonstrated that: the Gods have gone through drastic transformations as our understanding of the world has increased.

Oh, and for any of those Naturalists out there, you might want to check out the Bright's movement

I'm not sure why people argue about the existence of god. If he exists, he'll figure it out for himself.
