Braid is actually proving to be one of the hardest games I've tried to complete. The amount of times I give up and switch games because I can't reach a certain puzzle piece is crazy.

vvvvvv killed me more than any other game. According to steam, only .8% of people with the game got the achievement for beating it. It doesn't take that long, though.
Raiden ll - Even if you beat the game, you will always go back to the beginning of the first level with a harder difficultly until you run out of lives.
Pitfall! on the Atari 2600. Took me a nearly a year to beat it. Also never beat the last boss of Metroid Prime 2 and the last level of Super Mario 3d world is really giving me trouble...
Any hard game I've played is easy when I'm patient and clever. Just stopping to take in the level design can make a big difference. I haven't beat Ninja Gaiden III, but I haven't played it, either! Ninja Gaiden, Zelda II, Castlevania, Meat Boy, Ghosts & Goblins, & Megaman were all great fun and not much frustration ^^

Metroid Prime Bosses are most hectic. Most creative too. Alot of bosses in those games take alot of time to beat. You gotta figure out what the weakspot is and they are really hard on high difficulty.

My hardest game was called 'Commadore 64 tape load'. It was a cut scene game on the front of all C64 games made inherently harder by me only being 7 years old. What you would do is rewind this very unreliable thing called a tape which the game was on, then reset to counter and press play. You then waited what seemed like hours to a small child until the screen told you to tap some keys like LOAD, or RUN and maybe a game would come on.
But most of the time not.
The hardest of these games was inputting basic programming for 2 hours to get a music simulator, and if you messed up one little command it wouldn't work and would make you type it out all over again.
So don't tell me Dark Souls is hard and frustrating.
Isn't it obvious that Falco Lombardi is actually a parrot?
battletoads for nes and the ninja gaiden series. I'm currently stuck on Ninja Gaiden II the dark sword of chaos. I'm trying to beat level 7-2? I think it is. That's a hard ass trilogy!

What's this patient and clever crap? If you're not playing the game full tilt then you're playing the game wrong!

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
Fractured Soul, way too hard for me(and it's the first game that got me to say this)
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn
