For me there are numbers, of which anything with the suffix teen is a teen to me, and then there is puberty and maturity. Those happen at different times for different people (sometimes never for the former), and therefore, I won't even attempt to deviate from numerical suffixes to symbolize such.

That is not what becoming a teenager means. When you become a teenager, your age number goes to the "teen" portion. You don't become a adult until you get out of the "teen" portion.
See what I mean? You are a teenager during those years.
The maturity of the individual is another story though.
Also, I think what "tween" means is that they are around the age of 10-12. The age before becoming a teenager.
Yeah, I go by the literal definition of the word.
But that all said, maturity depends heavily on gender. Guys aren't fully mature until their early 20's, while girls tend to be fully mature in their late teens.

So UK people become men before US people, I always though that was the case.
And the Germans even earlier.
Though whether someone is legally allowed and willing to drink beer are completely different things. I for one don't find the taste of reindeer piss very enticing.

Honestly, when judging when teenage years begin, the whole "You have to be 13 and up" mentality is very outdated. Especially since for the most part, 12-14 year olds aren't fully teens yet, and the way the media sometimes defines tween as 8-12 years old, what kids that age probably haven't even started middle school yet (which is the main reason why tween is nothing but a fancy marketing gimmick these days in terms of media). Here's how it should be IMO.
I personaly feel determining the stages of kids by school age rather than vague number indicators like 13+ is much clearer, and is more acurate to when puberty actually starts which is roughly 12 years old for most kids. So what are your opinions?
I don't see your collage diploma or something like that, so how about not talk about the matter you know nothing about?
