I prefer the Twilight Princess styled Link, but I don't mind the Wind Waker style.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

I could care less about what you people like to call "Toon Link". I'm not even sure how this term was made up. It's a Zelda game with a different graphical style. That doesn't make the main character different or "new".

Thanks given to Xkhaoz for that one avatar.

"Hero of Time, Hero of Elements, and Hero of Winds are all separate titles given to distinguish these characters who share the name Link."

I don't really remember Link being called the Hero of Elements, but then again; it's been quite a while since I've played some of the games. So, anyone else remember?

Possibly Link's Awakening? I'm gonna look it up I guess. Oracle is second guess.

Edit: Closest I can find in Zelda Wiki is "Hero of the Essences of Time and Nature (Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons)."

Ah, ok. OoS did come to mind, but elements≠seasons as far as I know.

Wait, the person who posted that article wrote that he hated Toon Link because of the name and that they didn't go for more a cel-shaded look... Did I get that right? Uh, that is a terrible reason to hate a certain character in a Smash Bros game. I would understand a reason like not liking move sets, speed, power, special moves, and how well he/she is balanced, but the name and graphical looks? That's just plain stupid.

No, he purely didn't like the name.
He thought that naming the character "Toon" Link is disrespecting Wind Waker.

Whatever, I don't think that Toon is disrespectful. Wind Waker was meant to look cartoony so it only makes sense that the character is named Toon Link. Whether or not the cartoon look worked in Wind Waker (and it did, magnificently imo) is moot.

I'd love a true Wind Waker sequel on a console, pushing that Zelda storyline and gameplay further. I see no reason not to maintain it as a parallel series alongside the realistic Zelda games (and more Four Swords sequels as a third concurrent series... as well as a Zelda II inspired "Other Z" action-oriented series... if I ran Nintendo).

Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense.
