Just thought about how great a Wi-Fi-Webcam-Chat application for the DSi would be. On the top screen you could see your opponent chat partner and on the touchscreen you can make all the options you need and maybe see yourself in a little screen too. Do you think that the hardware has enough power to do that? And is nintendo secretly working on it? that would be aaaawesome! (even an Wi-Fi PictoChat would be great though... )

There was a rumour about Skype on DSi, cause some Skype dev said it would be technically possible, but I guess Nintendo isn't that amazed by this idea ^^
I'm sure that the DSi is more than capable. The stylus could be used to input text, but it probably wouldn't get used that much seeing as how the mic is a lot easier. However, this is Nintendo we're talking about here. They refuse to allow talking in any of their games, despite the existence of a DS headset. I guess they are to concerned about being "family friendly", heaven forbid if there were any pottymouths playing a combat game (Xbox Live, anyone?) and a child overheard it. But then again, they did include a camera, I guess only for taking "family friendly" pictures with - People are going to do un- "family friendly" stuff with their consoles and handhelds whether Nintendo try and stop them or not - Anyone who's spent a lot of time on the check Mii Out channel has probably seen a few un- "family friendly" Miis that looks like certain unmentionables...
yeah, i see the problem... but i think so too that the hardware could handle that... it would be awesome if nintendo would give us something like that, or let a 3rd party publisher do that over the DSiWare channel. just look at wii speak ... this one goes definitly in the right direction don't u think so?

That is most likely going to be in the next handheld device that nintendo creates. I'm sure this new big thing they talked about in the media recently ("next handheld device is ready but shelved") something to that effect, i'm sure it's got video capability. If not, then I'm sure the future will reveal it all very soon. The DSi is way too popular right now for them to move on just yet, though.
