I keep hereing about how some people don't seem to be getting that many StreetPass hits. Well so anyone I pass I can look up at how many people they met and how many time they been taged. Anyway I my not have passed many people but some of the people I've passed sure have.

A dude named Sleepy who I think works that the used music and game shop 79 Tags 20 People
Girljeans 40 Tags 16 People
sofie (Who I think is the Best Buy's store Demo) 2 Tags 3 People
I live in Souix Falls SD what is a good sized city. Can't really get any good data from just four people. So I kind of wonder what kind of stats other people have.

My random encounters or my friends? My friends are from out of town. Hardly local. Unless you mean something completely different than what I'm interpreting your words to mean.
Edit: Also I thought the point of this thread was to post stats. Just to see how other people you streetpass are making out... so I don't really get your complaint really.

For me, I only have one hit and it is my 'new' manager from Gamestop. He has 65 tags and 34 people in his plaza. I guess he leaves his 3DS around when he works. Smart idea.
I got my first StreetPass hit!!!! It isn't a real one since I just hit my Gamestop's recently activated demo unit but I'll take it! I saw that there were 24 others besides me that have passed that system since its activation. That proves there are people around my area with StreetPass active units. I must find these people! I can't wait until my first REAL hit!
I have 34 hits and 18 people (including myself). Since there are so many, i won't list them all, but the highest has had 155 hits and 42 people (he works in a game shop, as do about five of the people i've encountered).
Please sign my petition to get a European (and Australian) release for Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked for the 3DS. Don't let Europe be deprived of another amazing game.
If I want a streetpass hit, I'm going to have to buy a second 3DS I guess? Lol, not going to happen though. I wonder if it is possible to get street pass hits while driving?
@SpicyDuck - Why do you think you'll never get one? I wonder if I got a StreetPass hit in a car? If it wasn't while driving, it must have been in a car parking lot. I had mine on and drove to a shopping area, and parked in a quiet corner where there weren't many cars. When I was inside the pretty much deserted shop I noticed that I had a hit. No-one working in the small shop had a 3ds, so I either got the hit while driving, or in the car park. So you never know where you might get one.

It is possible to get one in a car, but it is fairly unlikely. The bodywork of your car will considerably limit the signal range, so you'd only get anything if you passed someone else with a 3DS at a very low closing speed (for instance if you were overtaking someone on a multi-lane road). Certainly you'd almost definitely not get one from passing someone going in the opposite direction.

@3DSneedsRPG's - Cheer up! I only had 2 hits. Then yesterday in town I got three more. One was a 2nd hit, so I'm pretty sure it must be a girl working at our local Game store (not that she was much use as a level 2 fighter on Mii Plaza ), but the others were genuine. They will increase as more 3DS's are sold and games come out in more variety.
Still can't think of a better place to kill some time. Playing Solatorobo and Pokemon White. Waiting for Animal Crossing 3DS - it's taking forever.
