You need to hold the buttons after selecting the game from the Home menu
It worked! Thanks! Wow, everything is so clear!
Ya but what about the color? I'm guessing it still looks washed out.Either way I don't sell my consoles or trade them in for new ones, so I'll just be sticking with my DS Lite for DS games hehe.

when you select the game in the menu (but don't start it) hold start and select at the same time , the game image will spin quickly to let you know that you did it and while your still holding the buttons start the game and it will be in original ds formatted screen

@WaveBoy It doesn't look as vivid as on the DS,but you can still tell different shades of the same color apart so I'm ok with it.I agree it's probably better to just play the games on a DS though.

I can never do that. It worked when I was told to select the game first, and then press start + select, though.

I think the blurriness somewhat helps 3d games like Goldeneye or Kingdom Hearts smooth out the edges.

Well that reason alone is why i won't bother playing DS games on the 3DS. I like my DS games to be colorful and vivid thank ya very much. But there are many people on here who actually sold their DS to get a 3DS. Sigh*
Geez, don't you guys like to collect Nintendo systems? You fools. Slap!* lol

When I tried the start and select button the games looked super small and I hate how it looks blown up, but after a day of playing some of my DS games they started looking a little better. In time I think I will get used to though, not yet.

I just find the native resolution to be more my style, even though they are smaller in size. Just my personal preference. And they're even more vivid when you play them in native resolution as the stretching is what washes the color out a bit. Of course this is also something that could be improved via a software update at some point. But for now, I'll play them small. Doesn't bother me one bit.

Some DS games that feature 3D modeling can look bad, but the ones featuring sprites look great. That's when they don't look bad, FYI.

Just booted up Sonic Rush. It actually looks really good. Probably because the amount of 3D rendering is minimum.

This AND that.
I'm playing Dragon Quest IX (Purchased along with my 3DS) But i'm really seeing no problems. I tried the start button thing but it just made the screen really tiny...there's barely a difference, if any at all (besides the tiny screen of course).
