I guess I didn't explain myself right. The title of the thread is "where are all the good games?". I agree with it and I actually miss the variety that the DS catalogue had. What I adress is the current 3DS catalogue. Now that I learnt (reading this thread btw) that ATLUS is no longer distributing games in Europe, my expectatives just went lower.
As for the "Milking the cow" thing, I love DS & 3DS and I even think they're better handhelds than PSP and Vita, not graphically, but in many other ways that are more important for me. I've got also some years (and played games) in my rearview mirror, so I'd like to see games developed with the high standards that Mario/Zelda/etc games are usually done, but with a bit more adult content. Been playing them since the 80s, we're in 2012... In that matter, I think Nintendo is very conservative because they know kids are a very good marketing target.
I think the Nintendo versions on MGS are as close as we're going to get to an M rated Mario, but some great M games on Nintendo consoles are:
Eternal darkness, Resident Evil series, No More Heoes Series, MadWorld, MGS, 999 series.

At this rate, I'm confident the 3DS game catalog will reach the same levels as the DS. The DS had a less than impressive line-up during its first year on the market. Give the 3DS some time

The good games will come, just as the 3rd parties will return. Here in Europe, DS software sales were very badly hurt by R4 et al. flash cards. The 3DS takes anti-piracy measures to a new level and will prove to be a very tough nut to crack. This will make it much easier for developers and publishers to get a good return on their investment and the number of games will increase.

I want a Vita but it doesn't have a kick butt line up either. It took the DS over a couple of years to get the amazing library it has now. Why people expect the 3ds to have one now is ridiculous. There are plenty of good games out now and more on the way. Nintendo caters more to the younger crowd than the generation that grew up in the eighties, which I am a part of. Gamers are never happy and sometimes have unrealistic expectations. The younger crowd has more time to devote to video games, hence why Nintendo sells to them. If you want more mature games, than go to the Xbox and PS3. Nintendo has some but not a lot because they are more a family oriented company and that's not likely to change anytime soon since that works for them and makes them a lot of money.

I hope that in the near future, titles lik Beyond the Labirynth, Time Travelers, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, Prof. Layton x Pheonix Wright, Rune Factory 4 and much more will come to the west (and of course Monster Hunter Tri G or 4), because Japanese gamers have from November last year have great ex titles (practically every month there's a great bunch of ex titles) and maybe 30/40% has launch date in the West, so that's sucks a little. Of course bunch of them have high % of coming to US and Europe, but then again, it would be like with Fire Emblem: Awakening that's not coming this fall but in spring next year.
you are indeed and stupid gamer op looking to much at revieuws? LOL just look youtube at gamplay a little or story and then decide if you decide solely on a score then your mentally ill sorry .....

Zero Escape is coming this fall in NA. So far none of the others you mentioned except for Fire Emblem.
