Topic: The Denpamen 2: Beyond the Waves thread

Just saw the article on the main page and wow, we have news about The Denpamen 2: Beyond the Waves! Yes, seems like it's been officially rated by the OFLC and I believe it's not too far away until we get this gem of a game.
For those who haven't played the original game, The Denpamen: They Came by Wave was a dungeon crawling RPG with the ability to allow you to take your 3DS anywhere with Wifi signals and use the AR functions of the 3DS to search out the critters known as Denpamen, who have all got unique abilities, allowing you to customise your party and take on dungeons. This allowed for strategy as every dungeon had different enemies and bosses that required different strategies in order to beat.

The sequel, The Denpamen 2: Beyond The Waves, will be a vast improvement over the original. From what I could tell from the trailer, you will be able to capture more Denpamen types, equip more armour, gain new abilities, go fishing, visit villages, grow crops, take pictures of your team of Denpamen and save to your SD card and battle other teams of Denpamen, from other people via Streepass, which looks to be a great new addition and another great incentive to take your 3DS everywhere with you.

I'm pretty excited to say the least, like the last game I'm sure everyone will enjoy this game and hopefully Mr. @Philip_J_Reed will give it a 10/10 because this game looks to improve on everything the last game did and he gave They Came By Wave a 9/10. Brilliant Stuff!

We'll see! I'm definitely looking forward to this one. The Denpa Men was a very pleasant surprise and by all accounts its sequel is even better. I hope it's true!

I want it! I played the first game and defeated it! Can you take your first Denpa Men to the second one?

Hey guys did any of you guys see this preview of The Denpamen 2 on IGN? It looks like this game is gonna be in the same vein as Dragon Quest II (bigger and better)!
Apparently The Denpamen 2 looks set for a May 2 release for the US, lets hope the rest of the world gets it soon, I really wish they had more turn-based RPGs on the eShop, they're my favourite.

Want! Only thing I dislike about the first one was how you needed different wifi signals to get different Denpa men, and scanning QR codes isn't an ideal work around because if a scanned Denpa men dies, you can't get them back. You can just scan them again and start fresh. Bleh.

Nonetheless, it was a very enjoyable game.

I loved the first game, so when this hits, I'll be sure to give it a DL.

I haven't downloaded much off the eShop in awhile (the last being Kersploosh!), but with this, Mighty Switch Force! 2, Bugs VS Tanks, The Starship Damrey, and Monsters Attack on Friday on the horizon, things seem to be picking up for me on the eShop.

I was also, unfortunately, not involved with the localization.

As Chaos said, it's really not uncommon at all to have people from the game industry hang out at forums. They love games too, you know?
And if they're proud of the games they're involved in, they like to see what people talk about on forums

Anyway, like I said, I can't divulge any dates, but I can tell you the release date is not May 2nd, but something WILL happen that day...

I wonder if it will be a demo like the last one. Makes sense and would be another good idea to give us the first part of the game and allow us to transfer data to the main game again!

@slidecage, Lemme guess, May 2nd is when a demo for The Denpamen 2: Beyond the Waves comes out in NA?, I'm just wondering how far out the game will appear on the eshop for Europe and Australia, I hope we get a simutaneous release, unlike last time...

Looks a little bit like Animal Crossing meets Dragon Quest to me. I wish I could say can't wait as I've yet to beat the first and I've got too many other games to play atm!

Why hasn't anyone been on this topic lately? oh well... Anyway The Denpamen 2: Beyond the Waves arrives in America AND Europe (and presumably Australia too) on the 30th May! I'm really looking forward to this game, I had a blast with the last game, who's excited?

I'll probably get it eventually (the first one is my second favorite eShop title), but my SD card space is starting to fill up, so I'm probably going to try to save up and focus on retail titles.

Oh I'm definitely going to get it! Loved the first one. I just probably won't play it for like 6 months to a year with my backlog and all the games I still want this year alone!!

Played the original. Instant buy on day one for me.
Also, I read somewhere that you can transfer the main hero from the original to the sequel. But my save data got accidentally deleted a while back and I didn't really feel like redoing the game. Anyways, do I have to complete the first game to transfer my old Denpa?

Played the demo of the 1st game and it was actually a fun charming game. Wonder if they will discount the 1st game, cause I would insta buy it. I'm one of those people who can't play a series out of order (Except when the 1st games are not released in NA, but later ones are).

WILD ARMS 2 and Breath of fire 4 for my vita .... now this game may not get my cash (if i still have not beat those no reason to buy more backlogs) though i will still get it sooner or later
