I have never played any other Star Fox game except for the first one on SNES is this one any good?
Of course it is. Most players consider it to be the best Star Fox game by a wide margin.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

I really did not enjoy the game on the N64 - mostly because I sucked at it. This kind of thing is not where my gaming strengths lie.
However, I love the 3D affect in the trailer. Like Samurai Warriors and Zelda, I feel 3D does add something to the cinematic quality of this game, and as such I'm keen to try it out again.
Pity about the lack of online multiplayer. Makes the photo feature kind of pointless (you could try looking up at your friends in local multiplayer for the same effect.
I loved Star Fox on the SNES and never got to play the 64 version so I'm totally getting the game! I can't wait. I can tell this is going to be a great game. I'm glad it has download play. Almost makes up for no online mode.
I'd love to try this, but I'm concerned that it will be pretty hard and so I'll end up leaving it. I never had an N64, so the remake stuff is OK for me (for now at least). Would be good to try it out first I think. Still working through OOT at the moment. Does remind me of Rogue Squadron on the cube.

Nintendo's online multiplayer haven't been to great to start with (hopefully Wii U changes that) but I still think Star Fox 64 3D is still worth getting. It was one of my favorite Nintendo 64 games.
I'll wait on this one. When it's cheap (I say anywhere between $20-30), then I'll consider getting it. Like what y2josh said, I already have it on the N64 and VC so going out and spending $40 on a game I already own would be irrational. But I'm a die hard fan and must get it on 3DS in some point in time

It has been born anew... It is a handcrafted copy using today's technology. "
that's news to me. makes it seem like it's much more deserving of a $40 price tag knowing that it's been rebuilt from scratch. there's a lot of talk about how good the gryo controls are, i hope they offer sensitivity adjustments this time because having to move the system around so much when you're just trying to sit and play sucks.
I will be purchasing it at full price because I'm a huge fan of this type of genre. 3D Classic: Xevious and Sin and Punishment: Star Successor are examples of what my videogamer heart wants.
This game is going to have Latin America VA! There is a trailer at the starfox 64 3d official site. Even if some voices don't fit well with their characters, I'm thankful with Nintendo. This is the first time Nintendo do something like this. Before Pokemon Rojo/Azul there wasn't any Nintendo game with text in Spanish. And now Mario Kart DS and many other games have it. Definitely I'm going to get it first day. Maybe someday there will be Club Nintendo for Latin America (not the magazine, the service). By the way, it has french VA too.
even if its short, you can play thru it dozens of times and its still fun.
its in the end era where we liked to compete for point rankings... glad it comes back, and for the first time, this remake is done for a game i didnt play too much. 1 playthru only ! (it was a rental)
I'm really looking forward to getting stuck in with Star Fox 64/Lylat Wars again! I never did get around to getting all of those Medals, and although I have the game at home on my N64; it would be good game to play when I'm out and about

The only way to force Nintendo to focus on new games is not buying remakes, or at least waiting few months forcing them to drop the price, as it seems they are quite comfortable with their policy of selling cheap remakes for the same price of fully new games.
