I was thinking and i thought that Nintendo's next portable system should be an HD version of a 3DS. You know have at least as great as graphics as a PS Vita but still incorporate the 3D and dual screens. What do u guys think? Yes or no? Or do u think Nintendo should abandon the 3D and/or dual screen gimmick?
Sorry I answered to fast. What I think they should do next is a 3G 3DS once 4G is the standard and 3G is cheap and affordable for the manufacturer and consumers.
It would be an upgrade to the 3DS but still a 3DS per se: the 3GS. (I'm calling it now.) 180º glasses-free 3D screen (holograms from the 3DS's stereoscopic process), 480p screens (2x their current resolution), Paperwhite-like screens for perfect brightness, better grip with the XL version having an integrated Circle Pad Pro mapped like on the Wii U GamePad.
3GS, 3GS XL. Right at the end of the 3DS's product lifecycle to keep it running and to concur with the system's late majority price drop with new offers (3GS, 3GS XL) at the same prices we have now for the current ones (170, 200 respectively).
My hope is that they have a regular and XL version, at launch. I think it's going to be something different, but not a tablet. They aren't going to go that route, but I hope it has a really nice, HD screen, with high resolution. Even if it's only 720p. It still needs to have buttons, pads, etc., to differentiate itself from the phone/tablet market.
I really don't know what they can do about the design, because the clamshell is really awesome. But, Nintendo will always surprise us. That's the cool thing about them. And, I hope they ditch 3D...it's done nothing for them.
3D will be a dead gimmick by the time the next Nintendo handheld cpomes out. HD is a must and I don't see them getting rid of the dual screen functionality. Its one of the few things they still have unique. Maybe they'll make both screens touch.

I hope not. I love the 3D games. Especially the 2d games with the 3d depth. they just look so cool. You might be right though. Nintendo hasn't been supporting the 3D Classics in quite a while and that makes me think they just might go away from the 3D. 3D might just be something they got into but wish they had not at this point. I sure hope not cause I love it
Still playing 3DS but will have Switch soon for multiplayer with friends. I miss you guys! Adam, Joni, Gavin and the rest of the Blue Rogues from the Phantasy Star Zero Days.

As long as they keep an XL style form factor and that second screen. Given how things are going, I may need them to invest in Atlus to ensure a continued supply of Etrian Odyssey games though.
Where's the KABOOM?! There was supposed to be an earth-shattering KABOOM! sigh delays...delays...

Now that u mention it, has there been any movies in 3D lately (sorry to sound dumb if i do). I THINK the whole 3D phase has died down since it was made famous by i think Avatar?

the 3D is like a roller coaster it goes up and down! 3D was popular a not so long time ago and quickly lost popularity now, years later, it got popular again and I think it shouldn't be dropped as this cycle will keep repeating if it gets dropped so soon....

No but yes.I mean Yea we want a HD portable made by Nintendo but No I want something new, Like the NESP21(Nintendo Entertainment system Portable 21st century) Having a portable NES would be a dream come true. Who wouldn't want one? There will be all the games from GB to 3DS(3DS games will be more expensive than the others).Well Thats my thought

3D is stupid, even Nintendo admitted that it was a flop and they were going to focus on games. HD is a must so it's going to happen eventually, 2 joysticks is most likely going to happen since everyone wants that even now I remember that was the main topic when people were speculating about what the new iteration of the 3DS was going to be (before it was revealed to be an XL) but Nintendo can't do it because then everyone else who has a single circle pad 3DS would be screwed. I just hope the next system has a better battery life, a screen that's not so shiny because I can't play my 3DS in well-lit areas. Like @DePapier said 3G is most likely to happen but only if it gets cheap enough(and I mean like really cheap).
