Topic: Should I get the physical or the digital version of Starfox 64 3D?

I usually get my games physically but since I've never played Starfox and have heard that this game only lasts for around 3 hours, I'm just wondering if its worth getting the retail version of the game?

After so long...I'm back. Don't ask why

Yes, even though you can beat the game in around 40 minutes the replay value is high (multiple routes, score attack and battle mode) and in my opinion this is the best version of SF64 so get physical just to be able add to your collection.

Considering its age, i bet that the digital version is more expansive than a used physical copy.
And like @Jazzer94 said, playing through it is one thing, its a shmup, nothing more, nothing less, but mastering it takes a LOT of time and practice.

Because it's a game u will go back to every now and then like I do because it's so short but good enough to just play over and over, I think digital would be best. If it was a much longer adventure physical would be ok. But note that I'm no longer a cart collector .

@MAB I have both SF64 is better.

I have both and I think Galaxy Force 2 is miles better (Even if they cost the same I would still prefer Galaxy Force 2 but Starfox cost me double and it is not as good so there is no contest).

you need to ask yourself this. is it a game you want to keep forever? will you one day regret not having it and not being able to find or and/or wanting to buy it again at full/used price?

also, will you ever want to lend it to a friend/family member?

Just get it the cheapest way you can. If postage is expensive enough to push the physical version over the digital version (which can be the case in some countries), or it simply isn't avaliable physically, get digital. If not, get the physical version.

I just get whatever version is cheaper, and 99% of the time with Nintendo products it's physical. And with Nintendo's lack of a proper account-based system, I'm very reluctant to buy digital whenever I have the choice.

I want to get it digitally because I am a huge Star Fox fan and it is the type of game I want to be able to pick up and play anytime. I had the physical version but due to only having 1 cartridge slot I hadn't played Star Fox since it came out.

Well I always go with physical if it's an option, but specifically for Star Fox 64 3D, as others have said it's probably old enough now that if you look around you might well be able to pick it up for less than the digital price. Also as it's so short if it ends up not being your cup of tea you can quickly sell it on once you've beaten it.

Hey, is Star Fox 64 3D still $40 on the eShop? I can't check it...

Yes, I bet it is cheaper in retail

Since you mentioned that, I was going to check up and see if I would prove you wrong on the 40 hrs deal with my activity log. Turns out, I only played it for 35 hrs... Still, don't regret getting this wonderful update to the classic.

As for what would be best, everyone else has summed it up pretty much. Prepare to pay a premium if you go digital, but save if you go physical and be able to recoup some of your spending by selling it again. I've had it physical all since release, and haven't had any problems with it, but that's me.

I'm not really sure. I bought it digitally when the price was $40 for physical. I think it's better that way, but I can definitely see it being hard to decide now, considering the physical copy is cheaper.

I would buy Super Street Fighter IV 3D and one of the RE games digitally, honestly. Those are $20 each and aren't remakes(SF is more of a reiteration, but still a newer game, never the less).

EDIT: It's hard to say whether to buy digital or not. If you're willing to cough up the extra cash, then just do it.

Get the Digital Version, this isn't 2013 anymore!

Yes, paying $20 less for a physical, resellable, lendable, and non-system-tied game is completely archaic.

Is there a store that sells digital versions? Maybe I can get the cheaper price through a price match for the digital version
