Well then what is your point?
There are hundreds of games that are released that are rated M and involve killing? So gamers who are old enough to play games and enjoy them without getting brainwashed shouldn't enjoy them due to little kids? Should beer not be allowed in the USA because kids would get their hands on them? Bottom line is I think people put to much mental outcomes from videos games. I was playing GTA Vice City back when I was 12-13 and Im not a deranged serial killer who wants to murder women and kill hookers. It's up to the parents to monitor their kids and if honestly kids are dumb enough to take moral advice and follow actions done in videos games and shows such as family guy and south park then that child is down right retarded.
@Jumpman yeah but even those parents don't give two effs about video games and believe me I've seen it with my own two eyes, I'm just lucky my parents made the right decision when I was younger.
Look you won't know until you're an adult so shut it.
Besides GTA Is a boring ass game anyway, how many people play it right? Mario will trump Niko Bellic any day. Some people have no taste in video games anyway and that's fine so long as they dont start trolling and telling the world that their PS360 is the best without reason or prior gaming knowledge to back em up. Man I hate how video games have become the norm, it used to make people geeky and special (and I don't care if being a geek is lame), now it sucks hard and people will hate you for not being PS360 gamer. IMO GTA should stay with the so called "gamers".

Well that's ur personal opinion there are lots of people who enjoys GTA games more than Mario games(just like myself). And dont compare Niko Bellic to Mario, imo Niko was the worst character so far in GTA games. As long as it's done well GTA would be a good installment for 3ds. I also enjoyed chinatown wars but a 3rd person perspective gta would be really cool like others mentioned.

wouldn't mind, they had gta on GBA and DS and some clones on the dsiware and people enjoyed them, but would perfer a gta like IV instead of the overhead ones.
And here I was thinking all those psychologists with hundreds of years of university education between them had decided that games don't 'force' people into certain behaviours.
But an unqualified random person on the Internet just said the professionals were wrong so I guess that's that. People who play GTA are going to beat up hookers, COD players is going to join the army and everyone who plays a NIS America game is going to start stalking Japanese schoolgirls. Good to know.

@RetroGBHippie92 I see where you're coming from, but Edlicious, OlympicCho, HarmoKnight, and elluin are right... Us older gamers (pfft, I'm only 17...)should have the choice to play the games we want to. I agree that younger, more impressionable players shouldn't play GTA and I probably won't get it myself, but I don't think they shouldn't make it just so those aforementioned younger players don't get brainwashed.
I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite
@kyuubukid213 Well thanks at least someone coherent enough agrees with me. You know it occurs to me that Rockstar knows little kids buy or have their parents buy, GTA or Red Dead, they just don't care at least to me it seems. I mean they don't need to slap a huge sticker saying its restricted, thats the counrties software rating board who should do that, I think at least they should do a PSA once in a while because I'm not against teens playing hardcore FPS' etc but I just don't like where kids are going these days. I mean you could still say i'm a kid, I'm only 20 but I am a more mature 20 year old because of the way I was brought up (and properly too). So yeah I know we can agree to disagree forever, but some of you need to get it through your head that these games are designed for older, maturer audiences and belong on consoles that are "considered" more age appropriate such as the 360 or PS3.
Unfortunately, just the other day GTA V was announced for Wii U, i'm not to happy about this as you would expect..... even for someone my age, I prefer Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Final Fantasy, Golden Sun etc

Rockstar does everything it is legally bound to do to prevent children buying its mature games. Is is unreasonable to expect any company to do more than its legal obligations, because that would put it at an immediate competitive disadvantage.
If you don't like that take it up with your local member of parliament. They'd love to have an excuse to go on the "violent games make people do bad things" bandwagon anyway.
Of course, you'd also be vilified by the gaming community for complaining about nonsense, and the laughing stock of the psychology profession for, well, being wrong, but if this is what you believe in go and take a stand.
@OlympicCho What is with you? I never mentioned anything about psychology and I think you made some good points, but I don't think you quite understand what i'm talking about. I know that people don't automatically want to go killing hookers etc in real life, I'm not stupid and I know only a moron would do that, but i'm just saying this topic is rather one sided like people saying "ooh there shouldz be a GTA on da 3DS" & " ur complaining about nonsense" or whatever.
You can say what you like but i'm not out to be villified or ridiculed by anyone, i'm being responsble at the very least and everything else is negotiable.
As I said i'm not against teenagers and adults playing violent games and i'm not saying that children will become murdering, rampaging psycopaths when they're older, but If any of us had children on this topic (please raise your hands if you do) I'm sure you would at least agree with bringing them up on non-violent games or age appropriate games.
But look, I like how Japan at least tries to distinguish violent/non-violent games on 3DS, the violent ones have black 3DS cases and the non-violent have white 3DS cases. I think that kind of thing could work overseas so at least parents can control one way or the other, the purchase and usage of video games.
Anyway, I'm an adult and really to be honest I don't really care about GTA or any of this stuff, I just wanted to present a different side of the arguement. I'm not going to any MP or government department or whatever, so just lay off on the negative comments please?

You said quite specifically that games like GTA are influential on young children's psyches, when the actual scientific evidence suggests otherwise. That's what I'm responding to.
"It's taught young children that beating up hookers is ok" - your statement, not mine, GTA does nothing of the sort.
There are appropriate age warnings on these games, so there is no reason whatsoever to suggest they are a negative impact on society.
I wonder if people on the internet realise n0 oN3 talkz liek DIS lulz.
As off topic as it is, I'm baffled that 70% of the internet thinks this. (FYi I've never encountered someone on an internet forum that seriously talked like that. )
Oh come on people, I'm allowed to change my mind and yeah, I know no one talks like that, but some of your comments or responses sound a little childish. Anyway there's no need to take me so literal or serious for that matter, chill out dudes.

I don't know why they even bother having missions and a story because whenever anyone plays a GTA they start to drive to a mission then get sidetracked by picking up a hooker then they want to show-off and make the poor lady distraught by driving on the footpath while trying to get the massive hit-and-run achievement before pulling over behind the trees and getting some digital action and when the hooker gets out we reverse over her a few times then drive off the bridge into the water for the suicide achievement then I get bored and turn it off then look at myself in the mirror and say 'MICK! what have you done... you crazy mofo'
