Is anyone else also excited for this game? I know it's just an enhanced port of the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2, but I have never really played the whole game before [I played the horrible DS version, and never completed it]. I pre-ordered this game for launch because I figure it will last much longer compared to the other launch games.

I was quite interested in this game also, never played it before and heard some nice things. Being from Australia if I pick up a Nintendo 3DS then I will likely be content with this alone (might consider Nintendogs but not sure what it's about) - actually have New Super Mario Bros and Yoshi's Island DS on hand that I've never played also - very much because it's included in some quite appealing pre-order bundles where you pretty much get it for free in comparison to the SRP. Hopefully it's still on offer if/when I decide to go ahead with it all.

I love Rayman 2. I have 3 copies of the game though, so I'll just leave the 3DS version alone for the time being. Still, glad to see some interest in 3DS third party titles.

Can't wait to get this game in my hands. I've only played the N64 version of the game, of which I own in its beautiful green cartridge, and have beaten it many times over. The best Rayman game in the series, and I welcome it into my 3DS collection openly day one!

I played some of this yesterday, and I have to say I love it. Not only is the platforming solid, but the 3D is surprisingly put to good use in some parts of the game. The Circle Pad is also a work of art. In other words, this is a million times better than Rayman 2. Everyone else's thoughts?

Okay, so I might check this out. I thought the game was an epic failure due to two reviews that I read which stated that Rayman 3DS was a no go game.

I read the same thing. But I'm really in need of an adventure game... SSF4 can't keep me entertained all day x)
So are you guys experiencing the framerate issues? What about the length of the game?

I got this game day 1. It's the only game I could afford sadly, but I really like it. I played the horrible DS version and never completed it either. The 3D looks great, even though I see a little bit of double image. It might just be how my eyes adjust to it. I've experienced minimal frame rate issues.

I had the same problem with SSF4. Try to keep your 3DS about 30 cm from your face, because that helped with me =)

Good to hear that! Might pick this game up... first gotta read some more reviews and watch some more gameplay footage =P

Okay, I'm trying to stretch out my 3DS gaming money. I think I might return my unopened copy of PilotWings Resort and wait for it to get a price drop later this year and just go with Ridge Racer 3DS for now and buy Rayman 3DS and see how that works out.

hey
this is probably going to be the most stupid question ever... but how do I 'save' what I've done?
When I choose QUIT LEVEL and then YES, the screen says something like 'saving...' and then I choose QUIT GAME...
then later, when put the game card in and go to The Fairy Glade (2nd stage? lol), I need to start from the beginning of that stage. Did I save it wrong? or is Rayman game always like this?

Thanks...

I never had nintendo and this is my first game! sorry this is such a lame question

As soon as you finish the level, it automatically saves. the progress you did in the level as a whole. I believe if it saves mid-level and you quit, it only saves your lums and cages. Or I believe that's how it is. Just finish a level completely first, then it automatically saves, turn it off, and check!

Rayman 3D runs pretty smooth even when the 3D is cranked up to the max. The only review of Rayman 3D I took seriously was Corbie's review, and IGN's review of it was a joke. It is an awesome game if you like 3D platformers like Super Mario 64 for example.

Argh, somebody convince me to get Rayman 3D.
I mean I loved the PS1 SideScroller original growing up, so I do have some crazy nostalgia and love for the 2D Original, while I completely missed out on Rayman 2 growing up. I guess all of these negative reviews are making me think twice.
Ridge Racer and Monkey Ball are the two others i can't make my mind up with.

Well, if you missed out on Rayman 2 then you NEED to buy this. Rayman 3D is a port of the BEST version of Rayman 2 [the Dreamcast version] and it is one of the best non-Mario 3D platformers I ever played. Also, it will last much longer compared to most of the other launch titles. As for the second launch title, I would say go with Super Monkey Ball 3D.

I'm trying to debate on whether to get this, or Lego Star Wars...
Never played a Rayman game ever (besides the Rabbid ones), and this game looks interesting...at the same time, I've never played a Lego franchise game...From what I've seen in the past, the Lego games seem to be humorous and all that, thought I may enjoy it, even if they are a bit easy. But, Rayman, even though a port from the Dreamcast, looks...nice.

....HAAAALP!!! (leaving soon to go into town. xD)

I would definitely go with Rayman 3D. It's an amazing platformer and pretty much Ubisoft's Super Mario 64. Lego Star Wars is nice but you will get a lot more gameplay and replay value from Rayman 3D.
