I'm trying to debate on whether to get this, or Lego Star Wars...
Never played a Rayman game ever (besides the Rabbid ones), and this game looks interesting...at the same time, I've never played a Lego franchise game...From what I've seen in the past, the Lego games seem to be humorous and all that, thought I may enjoy it, even if they are a bit easy. But, Rayman, even though a port from the Dreamcast, looks...nice. :p

....HAAAALP!!! (leaving soon to go into town. xD)

I would definitely go with Rayman 3D. It's an amazing platformer and pretty much Ubisoft's Super Mario 64. Lego Star Wars is nice but you will get a lot more gameplay and replay value from Rayman 3D.

Better than nothing. xD
I';ll go with this game then, thanks.

I love Erica (Strike Witches), Eureka (Eureka Seven), and Tenma (School Rumble), stay away from them. xD
Update: Also love Yukari and Mizore from Rosario + Vampire.
Another Update: Also Yuuki...from School Rumble...
Yet Another Update: Also Amber and Xiao Pai from Rune Factory 4.

Yeah this game is a great 1st 3DS game IMO. The bright environments, and the little touches like butterflies flying out of the screen really show off what the 3ds can do

Argh, somebody convince me to get Rayman 3D. :p
I mean I loved the PS1 SideScroller original growing up, so I do have some crazy nostalgia and love for the 2D Original, while I completely missed out on Rayman 2 growing up. I guess all of these negative reviews are making me think twice.
Ridge Racer and Monkey Ball are the two others i can't make my mind up with.

Well, if you missed out on Rayman 2 then you NEED to buy this. Rayman 3D is a port of the BEST version of Rayman 2 [the Dreamcast version] and it is one of the best non-Mario 3D platformers I ever played. Also, it will last much longer compared to most of the other launch titles. As for the second launch title, I would say go with Super Monkey Ball 3D.

hah, I might as well. :D
Based on the Rayman footage, i think it looks wonderful anyways so screw the negative reviews, especially IGN's. By the way, how long exactly is the experience? And how many worlds are there? Yet It doesn't look quite like a 3D version of the original Rayman, seems a bit less colorful, whimisical and imaginitive, but i could be wrong.

Then there's Super Monkey Ball 3D, regardless of how easy and....well, weak the level design is I still feel the urge to get it, and I most likely will. And although I'm not a big fan of racers unless we're talking Mario Kart and maybe F-Zero, Ridge Racer 3D does slightly interest me because back when I was 12 i got the first Ridge Racer at launch for my PS1 and loved the hell out of it.

I loved the Bright visuals, the technotronic funky tunes and the fact that it wasn't some racing sim and instead a more faster paced and simplistic arcade racer. But it's the 3D that is supposed to be pretty damn impressive and I'm curious to see how it looks. And does the game run in 60fps by any chance?

I'm loving the hell out of all three of those games and, in my opinion, all of them are beautiful games on the 3DS and they are fun.

As a 3D platformer how does Rayman 3D stack up against Super Mario 64 from a gameplay and level design standpoint hehe?

It's not quite as good, but it's still decent. Nowadays, it's pretty easy compared to other 3D platformers, but it's still pretty fun to play. I'm basing my views on the N64 Rayman, not the 3DS version (though they're pretty similar)

Could anyone help me?

In Mennir Hill stage, I rode the shell and got off before it hit the door.

I noticed that there is a small hole(?) on the right, next to the rock. What am I supposed to do with it?

thanks

Everything I read about this game on various blogs and game review sites is outright negative. I still can't decide if I should buy this game or not.

@daydreamer, well I've haven't played a Raman game since 2006 on the PS1. I probably should check it out.

My games store gave it to me to test it for a day, I'll have to give it back tomorrow, and so I'm a bit rushing it, but I quite like it :)
Still, I played it for about 2 hours and it looks like I'm halfway there. The 3D is quite good, though sometimes the really close things come in the way ... The camera is sometimes a chore, but not too much. The music is good and I quite like the loading screens that pop out without a real warning : reminds me of the CD-Rom years :)
All in all, it is a great game, not perfect, but good nonetheless.

The only other Rayman game I played was the one on GBA, and I loved that game. Would I enjoy this one?
