"In marketing language, a gimmick is a unique or quirky special feature that makes something "stand out" from its contemporaries."

It's a gimmick, lol.

I completed Pilot wings early on and didn't fancy replaying. By complete I mean 3 stars in everything, not perfect scores! That was very frustrating. However a few months later it's awesome again, nice and relaxing in places, but hard to complete it.

I'd also add in some comments on 3D - SS4, looks beautiful, although probably adds the least value to me. However many people buy other consoles on the basis of beautiful looking games. And it plays well too.

PES11 - I've found this very tough to get into, partly cos my brain is stuck on a FIFA button configuration and I'm too stubborn to change it. But again, crappy menu's aside, it is a very good game - and the 3D - I find helps slide tackling a lot. Definately an added bonus over 2D. Pick your views carefully I would suggest.

Lego POTC - nice easy game although some of the final bottles are frustrating to find. The 3D effect is subtly but I think again adds value when walking the planks etc.

I've just got Zelda so not tried it yet - but in my experience to all those who say the 3D adds nothing, maybe it's personal preference but to me they do. Maybe not as revolutionary as some people were thinking, but much better than 2D and for me makes the environment much richer and nicer to play. And thats with the first crop of games. I had a US DS on day one (I'm in the UK but was there for work) and aside from Mario64 it was a while before devs really got stuck in. I read somewhere a comment that while the launch games weren't AAA, they were solid and the whole system reaks of potential.

I'm off to play Zelda OOT! - PS in the UK i registered my copy at 15.30 and it was still saying I got the CD. Apologies if most of that went of PWR topic.

@WaveBoy: Yeah, I decided I didn't want to drag this on any longer, lol. Looks like I wasn't quick enough. D:

Also I think the word you're looking for is "amuck." (or amok, whichever you prefer, lol)

@waveboy - yea I think I got perfect up to silver, but beyond that it's pretty hard. I commute and travel a lot!

I did complete the free flight mode. I found that equally if not more rewarding. There's a nice surprise when you've got them all, nothing major, just a nice touch. I was going thorugh the missions again (3 star) and then waiting to do the free mode together.

I haven't actually played SSIV all that much, but I was thinking it might grow over time. The resale value isn't that great here now, I think amazon have it for £15 now.

I only got to the 4th class and then I quit playing Mission Mode. It just got too frustrating for me. I still can't do a barrel roll in the plane and the next mission requires it. ._.

I do like to fly through Free-Flight Mode, check out the pretty scenery and take 3D pictures still though.

When I close my eyes, I see pixilated blood.

Barrell Roll is easy, just press the button twice.

I think the replay value in this comes down to just how damn good you are at nailing all the cups with perfect stars if you're that type. Or perhaps it's unlocking all the vehicles that are hidden and then doing every last ring, target, bubble, etc challenge in free flight mode. It's whatever you make of it, but unless you're Mr Perfect it is going to take a LOT of hours because some of the tasks are just downright vicious and nitpicky to no end. I saw that 1500ft glider challenge brought up, that was nasty, but I did nail that one once and that was fine though I think I 2 starred it in the end (don't remember.) Pilotwings has always been a fun and relaxed casual affair for me where I'd get the points to move on, now sadly it's more about pickier stars so I just do my own thing and enjoy the ride.

I'm having more fun I think using the flying bike and some of the other weird stuff free flying around and trying to get all the weird stuff picked up as it extends that clock which is good.

Hey guys. interesting topic . I also got Resort and SF4 at launch and SF4 is pretty boring for me, I think I'm going to sell it while people still want it. Something about standing in front of the same people punching and kicking over and over with little story gets dry really fast.
i wanted to like it but got bored, and I was a little bored with the ease of Pilotwings and the re-hash of the island too, but you all have convinced me to give it another chance. I do wish that there was more new stuff to the island or even some hidden other completely new area or something. Why the exact same island with no-one on it? I've actually been playing Excitebike so much I haven't touched it, so I need to go back and complete everything to see what else I'm missing. Plus I haven't gotten my Zelda yet, either and thats going to eat up everything as soon as I get it.

@WaveBoy keep going! I remember I was missing two rings for ages, and in the end found them really close to the tunnel. They looked so obvious there I don' know how I'd missed em. But I must have flown for about 20 minutes a day for a week looking for them. You can't quit now!

Oh and a couple other things, I think Miyamoto recently said that MarioKart will run at 60fps with 3D (we hope!) and i reckon you can look forward to driving round Wuhu Island!

Glad you like the game WaveBoy. It was my first 3DS game and I have put a least 32 hours into it. When the eShop hit I slowly stopped playing it. It's a good game while it lasts, now I have to find one more Gold Ring! Also the whale is really just for show, I think.

Dude, I have one gold ring left to go as well.
And I'm glad i just went online and found out where the 75th Island is located....Since trying to find it was frustrating me to no end. And guess what? There's no way anybody would of found this one on their own unless they somehow lucked out or looked back and realised where that Alien Ship was supposed to be positioned in Free Flight mode.

Basically, you have to select the Jet at Night(I think....) and you have to hover mid range over the water in a certian area and get in the right position and you have to slowly fly upwards when you're in the middle of the alien ship(as it were there) and then you'll hopefuly see the Island symbol. It took me 10 minutes to get it right.........And if I haden't of looked online, there's no way in hell I would of found out where it was. I still feel like a lame wad for cheating, but i can't spend hours each day zooming through the island hoping to find something. I NEVER would of found Island 75 on my own, tricky stuff Nintendo!

As for the final gold ring, I'm looking online to find out where it is. The Peddle Glider is so slow as it is, i don't have the patience anymore.lol

I found that i point on my first night trip.
The hardest gold rings to find are the ones that are high up in the air over empty water, try looking where there is no land.

this game looks like something that I would enjoy quite a lot but I refuse to pay $40. Nope.

You sure bumped an old thread to say that. At any rate you can find used copies for less $10 these days. I got mine for, like, $8 at Gamestop.

This is a good game.
Someone needs to go back in time and remind them to add some content though.
