Topic: Nintendo should make another 2d top down Legend of Zelda game.

They should Make a lengthy title, 8 Dungeons, with a whole lot of enemys. It could feature scrolls like in minish cap, and even more advanced combat features like the countering system in Windwaker. Anyone else agree?

They could make a FPS Skyrim type affair with motion captured actors, realistic textures and the grass grows back in real time while Lindsey Lohan, Seth Rogen and the Hoff handle the voice acting duties so in answer to this thread I'm gonna say YES go back to traditional LOZ

They should make another Zelda on a handheld that's like every Zelda on a handheld except the last one that was a remake.

miyamoto has said that he wants to do a sequel to a Link to the past with 2d sprites.

Anyway, I think if they made one that was the length of link to the past as a download title on the e-shop, then I would be fine with it. I would prefer a new 3d entry for the 3ds over a 2d one though.

Weren't Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks essentially top-down?

i want a zelda game like ocrarina of time 3d where you can set 4 items good graphics for a 3ds and i dont want anouther phantom hourglass or spirirt tracks cause they just were bad and annoying the train was bad the whole hourglass was bad i want a good zelda game back to the old style like ocarina majoras mask wind waker twilight princess(gamecube version)

I think they're kind of hinting around that they are going back to the top down, Link to the Past-type style since Miyamoto keeps talking about it and how he wants to "remake" it. I think by "remake" he could mean make a new game in this vein.

I would like that. The last console top down game was LTTP, while the last top down game on all consoles was Minish Cap ( I don't count Four Swords Anniversary, it's a remake not a new game). It's time to bring back top down style gameplay for a new game.

As long as there is no touch controls, I am completely behind this. I also want it to bridge the gap between Ocarina of Time and Link to the Past in the "Hyrule's Decline" branch of the timeline. No one knows what's going on with that area, so I want something to explain that.

Also, no cartoony setting, I want it around as dark as Majora's Mask was. Having a cartoon setting would ruin this game's back story. "The world is in disarray because the King of Evil is in power, but everything has a big smile and huge eyes!" -_-

The storyline could be that Ganon is already ruling Hyrule at the start of the game, and the new Link has to work with the seven sages (that should be that same characters as in Ocarina of Time) to save Zelda and Hyrule, and kill Ganon.

I always prefer the top down '2D' styled Zelda's. Build the game up just as Minish Cap and it'd be excellent.

It makes me sad how few people acknowledge/ know about Four Sword Adventures on GCN Most recent top down on a home console Zelda, and my personal favourite Zelda ever. And I never even played it with friends, just solo. It is a completely different game from Four Swords on the GBA/DSiWare.

Also Spirit Tracks is (sorta mostly kinda) top down. Just lacking an overworld in the usual Zelda sense.

Nintendo also needs to make more 2D Marios!

Perhaps the 3DS Zelda will be a top down game. Who knows?
