I'm not entirely keen on the design, to be honest... it looks really, really bulky to me. Still, it's what it can do that counts, not what it looks like, so I'll definitely be getting one as soon as possible - unless it launches this year. No way I'm getting one until next year.
Although I would prefer the lite, there is no way i can wait to have this thing. The launch DS was not exciting to me and I waited for a lite, but I can't with this one. Lol I dream about it too much.
Great find, now we can see what the sides look like. Also it looks a bit different from the one they showed at E3 (but that might be because it's black).
I'm pretty okay.

Well, to be honest, I think the Nintendo 3DS is far less bulky than the original Nintendo 3DS. The first DS system known to the public earned the name "DS Phat" due to it's bulky design. I'm sure you all are familiar with it. So therefore most of you will probably agree this is far less as bulky as the Nintendo 3DS. Please let us not rush time, let us be thankful for today as I'm quite very excited for the Nintendo 3DS and I'm sure that the "3DS Lite" will come sooner or later if the Nintendo executives choose to tread down the same road they trod with the previous DS iterations.

Meh, if there's no DSiWare transfer, I'll probably hold out for the more attractive 3DS lite. It'll probably only be about 1.5 years before that comes out.
I can't believe you can actually think of NOT getting the 3DS on release day. But what I REALLY can't believe is that you are actually willing to ""(WAIT) ONE POINT FIVE (YEARS)"" to get one.
lol. Screw DSiware, most of it's garbage anyways and besides you can still play DSiWare games on your DSi....uh, so what exactly is the problem? Why in the hell would you wait that long? Sounds pretty silly and hilarious if you ask me. Even if it wasn't compatible with DS games I wouldn't care, I wouldn't wait another 1 year and something just to get the 'step up' model that may actually support it. Time well wasted, and you'd definitly be missing out on one exciting launch.
Right?

I'm not sure I like the complexity of the casing. There are a lot of notches and grooves around the outer edges. I can't imagine that would be as comfortable to hold for long periods of time as, say, the nicely smooth Lite or DSi. The closed side view looks ugly imo. :/ Like a hamburger with too many layers.
Still, looks great. Apparently its dimensions are exactly the same as the DSi btw.
A couple of questionable things. Why revert the volume controls from the buttons of the DSi to the old slider again? The volume buttons aren't as sensitive, nor could they be accidentally changed unlike the slider. Why have extruding power/charging lights? I liked how the current ones are flush with the surface - no chance of them being damaged or knocked out if dropped. And why is the touch screen raised in a sharp fashion like that? The previous ones had a smooth rise that was comfortable on the hands when using the stylus. And why do they keep changing the speaker design? The DSi one has excellent sound quality. Hopefully there's the same tech behind those little holes.
I know it sounds nitpicky but I'm considering what it would be like to use this regularly over time.
