Why would the 3DS not be able to handle it? Doesn't it use, like, the Doom engine?

If Minecraft can run on the Xperia Play then I don't see any reason why the 3DS couldn't handle it.
True, but even that's just the creative mode with limited terrain.

What.
It uses the doom graphics engine. Actually Doom looks a little better.

It's constantly rendering the game. A 3DS would implode after a few minutes of trying to run Minecraft.
also TNT

You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
Yep, I'm currently beta testing it! AoE for the DS was the basic mobile version, not the actual game we know and love. But yeah back to the OT, Minecraft for the 3DS would be good unfortunately it would require that they totally rewrote it for the 3DS's hardware. I don't see it happening anytime soon.
yeah, a full rewriting requires time and budget. and expertise. this is a new system, and requires up to date skills.
and approval from nintendo. looking at the fun graphics, i doubt it wouldnt pass the test. remember how much nintendo restricts user communication. (curse words or genitalia is the worst thing on earth, worst than beating the hell out of opponents)
maybe some clud-gaming minecraft. minecraft needs very much power. so many things to generate.
but i would buy it if it comes out and isnt cut down too much
i agree but you would need a very decent internet connection for a cloud server to render TNT explosions am i right? all of these limits just make me want the psvita more and more lol. but maybe the 3DS could handle WOW better than any other game with immerse online play as of now
This is ground control to major Tom, you've really made the grade. And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare
well, while it's not likely, I'd get it in a heartbeat, with SD cards it could theoretically be possible to do something like transfer your worlds and themes from the PC and vice versa, regular PC minecraft has a 3D anaglyph mode I play, and it looks really impressive. I doubt this will be done, but I hope it happens anyway
seeing the 3ds titles so far. minecraft on 3ds would feature a wifi mode, but no online mode. check what they did with starfox!
or even monster hunter tri. its an online based game, and they removed it for the 3ds. if they did so for monster hunter, you can bet that a minecraft release would see it cut too.
i truly doubt the 3ds will ever feature a strong online game. ill wait and see how it ends up with heroes of ruin, but i fear the worst.

Oh, man. I'm sorry. I wasn't aware that this was a problem affecting the NintendoLife Forums. Don't you just hate it when you think you have a great idea, but somebody else already thought about it?
It isn't really. It was just a comic over-exageration, but the reason people ask for it on more consoles is because it a popular game, as you know. The reason it may not appear on our consoles is because Microsoft snagged the exclusivity deal (for an unspecified amount of time) - then it was ported to iOS.
A 3D version (considering Minecraft already has anaglyphic 3D) wouldn't be unheard of.
But then again, the best part of minecraft (the Yogscast agree with me) is the mods, and that would just be impossible on a handheld console - especially a Nintendo handheld console.
I'm still holding out for terraria on the e-shop. I know it uses .net framework and microsoft xna i still think its possible. The developer has made a ton of money on the PC version, he could put some work into it to runing on a handheld. Unlikely considering what it runs on, and the developer, but hey i'd buy it day one if it came out
