I'm still holding out for terraria on the e-shop. I know it uses .net framework and microsoft xna i still think its possible. The developer has made a ton of money on the PC version, he could put some work into it to runing on a handheld. Unlikely considering what it runs on, and the developer, but hey i'd buy it day one if it came out

I beg to differ on that 3DS couldnt handle...Minecraft is on Xperia Play & iTouch...
I would like a Minecraft on the 3DS to be honest! Possibly easier to connect to servers.Terraria would be nice also.

3DS could definitely handle it, if coded right. Obviously not a direct clone of the PC version, and more akin to the iphone versions.

Minecraft and the 3DS is a match made in Heaven. I wholeheartedly agree, and have for months.Sadly, it probably won't happen. If it did, though, I vote downloadable for easy updates, and full Survival mode with finite maps. It could be done.
Yes, Terraria might be nice, too, though I think it would be more difficult to port for more reasons than the above mentioned.

i seriously doubt the 3ds could handle it. now wii u is a completely different story. they're doing it on xbox, so it'll be do-able on wii u, as long as mojang hasn't sold out to microsoft, that is :/
Then why is Minecraft on smaller less powerful devices?

Minecraft on the Vita!? Eff yeah!
Who would want to play such an epic game on an awful Nintendo handheld?

I call shenanigans if 3DS doesn't get a copy of Minecraft...EVERYTHING ELSE IS!! Hell, even the DS has a hacked version...
I mean, it wouldn't be impossible. Camera rotation is fixed by the Circle Pad Pro. The touch screen could take place of the little box on the bottom of the screen with all of your items. You could use the ABXY buttons to set stuff or hit stuff. The Circle Pad could be used to move (no, duh). The D-pad could be used to cycle through your items. L and R could be like, quick menu stuff.
As for memory, it wouldn't have to be an unlimited world like in the original version. They could build the world from scratch and have a set world for you to experience. Creepers would still be there along with Zombies and Skeletons. I could see this as a pretty great 3DS game.
I own a GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), and Wii U
I used to own a PS1, GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

I wouldn't be surprised if someone got at least the creative mode of Minecraft working on the 3DS, whether or not they be Mojang.

Microsoft has exclusivity on the game when it comes to gaming platforms ( i think the next games as well)
but unless Sony and nintendo want to pay out the wazoo then they aren't getting it.

Wait, didn't Redigit stop working on Terraria? That should wipe out all possibility of an eshop version. Maybe Starbound?
56. Posted: Sun 8th Apr 2012 01:18 BST
What about Minecraft Pocket Edition on the eShop? I would get that.
57. Posted: Sun 8th Apr 2012 14:57 BST
I think it would be able to handle survival mode. Creative mode is just not worth getting.
58. Posted: Tue 10th Apr 2012 10:01 BST
Actually, It would be a great idea. I'd say drag the screen to look around(not thinking of kid icarus style), circle pad to move. I could keep on talking... but I doubt this would ever happen.. But unfortunately, I don't find minecraft fun....
Not extremely into nintendo at the moment, but not really into anything else either. :|
