Well I looked all over for a thread just for mario kart 7 discussion, but i find only topics about single things in mario kart, not the actual game itself, so this is just a thread for discussion and thoughts of Mario Kart 7.

Sweet! To start things off when do we suspect we might get a Mario Kart 7 demo if at all?

I don't think we'll get a demo. I mean they have said they want a demo service but it's still not even remotely implemented to the eShop in any way. So.. Probably no demo. Maybe later when they start a demo kind of service so that people who haven't yet bought the game can try it, but I seriously doubt we'll get a demo before it's released.
Looking forward to: ZeldaU & Hyrule Warriors

I'm glad you started up a solid thread for Mario Kart 7, Zephren.
I was a little surprised when I found out that Mario Kart will take longer to release than Super Mario 3D Land, but maybe Nintendo and Retro are trying to put in some really neat ideas? What would interest me would be how the battle system will be set up now and what the streetpass and spotpass will do. Maybe you could customize a kart and send to someone else by streetpass? You could also get ghost races from someone too.

I think the battle system is something that nintendo really needed to work on, the only game with a good battle system was mario kart 64 IMO. but i really hope that theres at least 10 unlockable karts, wheels, and gliders. 10 of each would give tons of possibilities, any more would be welcomed i think. I hope that theres a strong streetpass for this game.
My main hope for this game is that nintendo does the DLC thing for mario kart 7. they could add new( or retro) courses. they could also do a give away or something for new kart parts, just some ideas i would like to see

I found the lack of bob-omb battles in Mario Kart Wii to be the only disappointment from that game.
On a different note: Does anyone know if Retro is developing this or just participating?
Just for you.

I think they designed some tracks, not the game itself.
So, they're bringing coins back. I hope that means it's like SMK.
10. Posted: Wed 10th Aug 2011 19:24 BST
From what I've heard they are only Co-developing it. It's not their main project.

Face it people... Mario Kart 7 is going to be amazing. And if its like SMK in the slightest then thats going to be more of a reason to get it.

@NintyFan, If I remember correctly, Ghost Data was already confirmed in the September Issue of Nintendo Power Magazine from last year, the one with that epic Link of Skyward Sword on the cover.

The lack of free-for-all was both disappointing and befuddling. I don't like being fuddled with. Would have been nice to include smaller versions of the courses for four-player free-for-alls like the old games.
If there were free-for-alls, then it was just not good for it, I forget the details having sold it long ago.
Come on, friends,

Bob-omb Battles please! I'm just super excited for this game in general. I didn't have wifi for MarioKart DS, so missed out on racing online. I can't wait to take this one to the internet!

I want Missions back. I loved them in Mario Kart DS with boss challenges and all. Missed that in Mario Kart Wii.

I don't have it, Od. No one ever wanted to play Street Fighter, my only game, and 3D kind of hurts my eyes after a few minutes (no major headaches like some complain of, but some definite dry eye). With the new price tag, I could repurchase it without really having lost anything since I sold it at cost + a free game and the new price is $70 or so cheaper. ...but all I'd want for it is Mario Kart. Nothing else current or coming really appeals to me. I loved Mario Kart DS, and this looks more along those lines than MKW, but $210 for one game... yikes. Still like to keep my eye on the new game though out of curiosity.

I hope a Metroid themed track makes it in. Or cameos from the franchise. It'd be funny if you were racing in some track and Metroids star circuling around you- maybe Rainbow Road.
Anyhow, I'n excited for this game. Interesting that Wario wasn't in the demo and Koopa Troopa took his spot. I'll be using Wario and Mii for the most part.

I'm really hoping that the online modes are solid and that they retain everything good about MKDS - single-card download play matches, maybe some missions (hopefully involving underwater ventures and gilding) and some killer tracks (old and new).
I said this in my old Mario Kart tracks discussion, but I REALLY want them to remake Waluigi Pinball. They've already done well for Airship Fortress and Luigi's Mansion, so I want Waluigi Pinball.
I've also heard that the game runs at a consistent 60FPS in 3D, so that's also good to hear.
