I felt that BIS was gonna be the last entry in the series. While I would like a new M&L game, I'm quite happy with how great the 3rd one was. Concluding any story with a bang is always the way to go. Besides, we wouldn't want a not-as-good-as-the-previous-installment flop again, would we? PiT I'm looking at you.
Mario & Luigi trumps Paper Mario in all ways concievable. In fact, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga is my 2nd favorite game of all time, and it changed the way I look at games. Paper Mario just didn't click all that well with me (besides Super Paper Mario, that was fairly enjoyable).
What I'd like to see in the next one (if it ever comes out) would be the ability to play as Wario and Waluig, along with Mario & Luigi. Plus, the return of classic Superstar Saga characters, like Prince Peasely, Popple, and Cackletta.
I'd much rather see Mario & Luigi on 3DS than Paper Mario. That being said, it's looking like Paper Mario might be the direction Nintendo wants to go with the new portable. Maybe we can have both!
@Dragoon Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga was my very first videogame ever! I got it when i was seven years old. I never got partners in time, but i got Bowser's inside story, and I loved it! Mario and Luigi have so many funny characteristics, especially Luigi. The only Paper Mario game that i played was Paper Mario 64, and I like Mario and Luigi RPGs a lot more because of having the ability to defend yourself and because of the how funny Luigi is.
@Corbie I would like to have both! But I would enjoy M&L a lot more.

i never got Partners in Time because I heard that it wasn't very good. For anyone who played the game, is it good or bad?

@NintyFan Superstar Saga is a quality game. Even with the cool attacks, found in Partners and Time and Bowser's Inside Story, Superstar Saga is still the very best. I agree with you in every way. It took me years to beat the game because it was challenging and because I was young when I got it!

Paper Mario is coming first on the 3DS because it works better in 3D, is all. I'd expect another Mario & Luigi to come for the 3DS after the success of Bowser's Inside Story... Hmm.. Maybe they'll give it a twist and do Wario & Waluigi: Taco Stand of Doom or some such...
I've always liked the M&L series more than Paper Mario. I like how you can actually defend yourself in the M&L series, I also likw how Mario and Luigi can do attacks together and how Luigi can be so funny at times. Paper Mario seem's so lifeless, because Mario never displays any emotion. I really hope that another game is added.
You can defend yourself, Paper Mario actually takes more skill in defending as it doesn't hold your hand through the battle system (unless attacking).
Also, I think that Paper Mario gives more emotion. Paper Mario, partners can talk, and Big M has numerous facial expressions and his facefloor. While, M&L has blah blah blah, waves crazy arms etc.

It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
I found the button-mashing combos in Partners in Time to be frustrating beyond belief in some of the later levels, so I never picked up Bowser's Inside Story. Maybe I should? I thoroughly loved the first Mario and Luigi game though. I think in the next one that Peach should have an extended role. I loved how she was playable in all of the Paper Mario games so a game that focuses on her character would be fun.

Yes. Bowser's Inside Story is the rare sequel that is as different as it is similar to previous games and is miles better than Partner's in Time.
It would be very nice if both Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario were on the same handheld. If they do another installment, they should add a lot more exploration. One of the things I loved about SuperStar Saga was how wide-open and vast it was, and I want to see that again in a sequel. Partners In Time felt linear, and while Bowser's Inside Story improved it, it still felt somewhat straightforward.
Right on. This was my biggest complaint with BIS, how linear and small it felt. Exploring every nook and cranny of Superstar Saga was incredibly fun, and the sheer variety of scenery is unmatched in its sequels. I really hope they bring it back if they do end up making a sequel.
