UH NO! I've forgotten too many passwords and password saves on my NL and eMail account to make my 3DS a brick.

you can always set the parental controls if you like, bubbab55... i believe you can set it to not be able to play anything without inputting the correct passcode, thus making it useless :3

That's really unnecessary, imo. If something is so valuable to you that you don't want people poking around with it, you should keep it with you at all times. Besides, I don't want to have to put in a password every time I put my system into sleep mode.

Exactly.

No one even wants to play my 3DS, so I really would have no need for this. I guess if it got stolen, it'd be a nice revenge. But I still would be without my 3DS.

But my mom and dad wudnt let me have the password and plus u wouldnt have 2 put it in everytime u put it in sleep mode only when u turn it on and plus u have the option of having the pass word on or off. Also i cant take it where ever i want b cause i go 2 school

Fail. Aren't most 3DS's usually always in Sleep Mode? And if I had my 3DS stolen, it would usually be nabbed outside in the open public area where I'd have it in Sleep Mode to activate StreetPass...

Passwords are pointless anyway... if you're a good enough hacker you can get through pretty much any password without too much trouble. Also having to put in a password every time you boot it up? Dang that would get flippin' irritating...

and a padlock is useless with a tight set of hedgeclippers. There's a tool to get through any lock. Anything helps.

Nintendo could make it take a picture of your face and analyze it. . .

What would be really cool is if the touch screen could function as a fingerprint reader! (I know that's impossible for the current hardware)

I use the parental controls as precaution. It can be helpful and I'm sure the average robber wouldn't be smart at hacking.
