armoredghor commented on Talking Point: Is Wii U's Power Really That Im...:

I think it's necessary to have the extra power in order to get the support of 3rd party games. The console has had a long strong run but it needs the support of other developers to make it a central system, otherwise players feel the need to own a 360 or PS3 just to play big name 3rd party games.
However, I do believe Nintendo can make great games without the extra processor but please give mario a break if you want to prove the console has graphical power.

armoredghor commented on Wii Motion Gaming Won't Guarantee Better Fitness:

It improved the immersion but they never said it improved fitness. Even wii fit isn't supposed to. If you actually get into the first one, it starts off talking about posture and how to fix it. That's all it's supposed to do.

@zapdinos the difference is that they're trying to protect the four years of investment that they put into their product. They are trying to make sure that a place like gamestop doesn't keep making profit from their product without seeing a cent. It didn't cost much to build the discs but it did cost a many millions of dollars to build this product and they would like to see a little cash for it. I understand that $10 adds up overtime but considering the platforms its offered on now, don't be upset if it now costs half the original price instead of a third.

armoredghor commented on Talking Point: Using Glitches - Cheating or Cl...:

I don't think it matters whether it's developer designed or an utter glitch; as long as its not massive. I haven't actually seen the glitch everyone is talking about but it reminds me of the shortcut on wario stadium in mario kart 64 - a 20 second lap. There was also a glitch ( I heard it was a glitch) in mario kart double dash! for the gamecube that let you dodge red shells if you released a miniboost from a turn at the right time- a 3-5 second glitch. As long as it's low reward, who cares. These massive shortcuts though destroy it for the rest of the players.

armoredghor commented on Reggie: Wii U Information Could Hit Before E3:

I'm guessing it's gonna cost somewhere between $350 - $400 with tablets costing about $80-$100 and most likely only needing one extra to begin with. If they're smart, they'll save 8 player WiiU-only (not supporting 3DS connectivity) games until at least a year into it's life.

armoredghor commented on Talking Point: The Overcrowded Holiday Release...:

A game targeted at the youth is ideally sold in the holiday season. For college students and citizens facing economic hardships, their games should be sold throughout the year to help sales. Ultimately, it seems that this is the current plan in place.

armoredghor commented on Talking Point: Nintendo's Plans to Fight Back:

@109 Well in that case Sony has been desperate for over 10 years with their playstation series, Apple has been desparate for nearly 10 years without even renaming their iPod iterations (besides the touch), the xbox 360 was an act of desparation with only adding a number to the end and the whole 3D trend was an act of desparation due to low HD sales. Take your own advice and don't try to offend people.

It's a very beautifully built game based on a cross-over. I kinda wish the second one would've used the time management mechanic. I lost the game on the first play through but it's still fun to play.

armoredghor commented on Talking Point: The Second Circle Pad and the 3...:

@TheDarkness It's not so much whether it controls better, it's what's easier to develop. Gearbox didn't build games for the Wii, not because of a vendetta but because it just takes too much work to build an engine and then lessen an engine, graphics, and rework an entire control scheme when the 360 and PS3 are so similar, that few adjustments need to be made. It's just more work develop a touch screen aiming system that may be new to some people than to just use an old easy to port interface.
