Topic: LEGO Star Wars III 3D -- New gameplay footage!

There's an old thread that compares it with the PS3 version, but I figure some people will just want to talk about the game on its own merits, lol.

I found some awesome gameplay footage today:

The graphics are a lot better than I thought they'd be: Silky smooth and shiny. Awesome. The flight gameplay also took me by surprise; it's kinda Rogue Squadron-y, and that's got me stoked.

The one thing that's bothering me is that the other dudes in your command don't seem to follow you around like in the console games, which means less interesting puzzles and a more lifeless environment.

The game looks really fun though. Got it preordered. :3

Man, those graphics are on par with those of the very first LEGO Star Wars game on the XBOX and GameCube.
I can't believe my eyes. The 3DS is going to be one mega power handheld.

It looks pretty good, but then the last lego game I played was on PS2...
Has there been any mention of single card multi play?

I haven't seen anything on multiplayer, but then again I haven't really looked either. If it does have single-card then it'll be for those goofy volleyball and snowball fight minigames, lol.

That Snowball fight mini game is excellent.

Any one else think the R2 thing is a multiplayer?

Some of the sound effects could get quite repetative without something else there. Needs music.

I'd be surprised if it didn't have music. It looks like the developers compiled the footage together without music so the music wouldn't be cutting in and out randomly between clips. It almost looks like leaked footage meant to be used for a trailer, haha.

The flying sections look really good, actually. Looks like I won't be literally dreading the next ship level now, lol. :3

I don't think I'd quite go that far but it definitely looks nice.. though not having the other characters on screen is disappointing and I've heard it runs considerably slower with 3D on. Still looks to be one of the better launch games though.

...i don't know what games to get at launch...forgot about this game. xD

Nooo. It was a clone trooper running for battle. Then he chickens out.

Well, there was a snowball fight in that footage. Info at various online stores suggest it's single player only, which would be a real shame.

I'm a bit undecided on this one. The video makes me want it now, but I might hold off until the review. Got to get 2 systems now and a game I hadn't planned on as the wife wants one too, so I have to consider other games more carefully.

How sad...I was hoping it was multiplater.

I see the combat seems better, I just hope the Battle Droids are harder to kill than in the previous games. They just stood there shooting. I want them to take cover and be more strategic. That would make there an actual use to the improved combat.
