I really liked the first NOVA — it had a neat look and feel. The gameplay needs to be improved quite a bit (mostly the AI, and the multiplayer was pretty bad), but I think it had the best art style of Gameloft's shooters.

Angry Birds: That's already confirmed.
Infinity Blade II: May be a possibility. Just depends on if they retooled it to take advantage of the 3DS.
You forgot about other games like Zombie Gunship and Grand Theft Auto III (I hope that comes to eShop... with Circle Pad Pro support...)

Which is why we would like ports to make the wait for new, original titles bearable. Do you want a period of no games at all? Or would you like some ports that may play better than their source platform? I would think you would know the answer.

If you don't want any, fine. Don't download it. But other people shouldn't suffer with the lack of games for their system when droughts happen. Of course, if there are a ton of developers there to back up the eShop, then I'll go support those games first. But until then, I feel that iOS ports to the eShop could actually help in the long run. There would be more games, and those same games would play better than ever. Really, these ports should happen in between periods of no original games.

Even ports would take time. So whether or not we're receiving games every week, we'd still be waiting in the long run. I'm sure there are IOS ports in development, but having too many of these ports (little to nothing done to them), would be awful. I don't want the eShop to be a secondary IOS shop or whatever they call it, I want it to be the eShop with exclusive titles found nowhere else.

Even ports would take time. So whether or not we're receiving games every week, we'd still be waiting in the long run. Hm, can't argue with that. Still, we're bound to hit a drought of eShop games sometime (my pessimistic attitude acting up again...), and, though it can run the risk as calling the eShop as just another place to play iOS games, I'm sure that expanding an audience for games is really never a bad thing. (Unless it really dumbs down the game to accommodate casuals... Resistance series, anyone?)

But of course, with Nintendo of America's stupid restriction of 'only one VC / eShop game per week' mantra, these games could barely reach the eShop.

A lot of iOS games are actually designed to use virtual buttons and that kind of thing, so they'd theoretically be better on the 3DS. If that's the case, whichever platform got the game first doesn't matter (to me at least).

Also original, expensive productions (from devs like Gameloft at least) aren't likely to happen until the waters have been tested with a port or two.

I don't care if it's on the IOS store or not, I just want exclusive, new games on the 3DS.

Hence why I bought one in the first. But maybe that's just me.

Personally, I'd want Capcom's iOS games on eShop. Monster hunter: Dynamic hunting would be incredibly with actual buttons!
Marvel vs Capcom 2 would awesome to take around on a portable with a real controller!
Devil May Cry could be a great port!

There are many, many more. Including many iOS shmups that are actually decent. I say, the more content the merrier.

Gameloft had Let's Golf! 3D on eShop at the first two months of the eShop, and it was a rebranded port of Let's Golf! 2. And last time I checked, it was pretty successful (from where Nintendo released revenue gained from eShop games). So there you go, that means more Gameloft games can be released for the eShop.

Also, buttons go a long way to making or breaking an experience. Zenonia definably benefited from buttons. Hero of Sparta was also improved when it was released for PSP (I won't say DSiWare, since it isn't as good as the one on PSP... from what I heard of, at least).

Right here shows that the 3DS's graphical capabilities and RAM aren't up to snuff compared to the PS Vita and the iPhone 4S. However, remember when Crysis first came out, and even the strongest of PCs couldn't handle the game at high settings? It was released for consoles at 2011 with heavy optimization, and it played smoothly and looked great. I think the same could happen with the 3DS: release a slightly less graphically intense version of the game with heavy optimizing, and the games would look great and play smoothly.

Or, at least, just port them over to PSN as well.

Most people are paying over £1000 to keep their smart phone (assuming if it's a 3 year contract). Well, at least there is one "smart" thing about the customer (or has).

I'm only comparing the specs to see if games on the iPhone can be run on the 3DS. I think the lack of graphical power in the 3DS will hurt these ports the most, as that will affect the graphics and the framerate of the game.

Besides, as Zenonia on DSiWare and Hero of Sparta on PSN proved, the addition of buttons 96% of the time help the game play better. (The 4% includes games like Cut the Rope, Infinity Blade I / II, and Fruit Ninja)

I was taking a dig at the article. Sorry for any confusion.
I think most games on IOS could run on the 3DS, just as long as the developers don't get lazy.

Ha, no worries. Anyway, I looked through the article, and I found nothing that said something about iPhones being compared to gaming handhelds. However, I think I have the answer: since the iPhone can now deliver some truly great games (Chaos Rings Trilogy, Infinity Blade Trilogy, Dead Space), we're seeing less and less of a reason to tag along a handheld. But without physical buttons, the games can't really control as well as on a handheld. And as iOS games get better and better, the need for a 3DS / Vita decreases.

In short, the iOS library is only going to get better. However, I don't know how stable the market is there, with the 'race to $0.99' mantra going on. Soon, budgets grow, and games will, inevitably, become commercial failures. That is another small reason why it would be beneficial to port iOS games to the eShop (and maybe PSN).

Did you forget how much the 4S runs in the background while running the games? The 3DS and Vita only run a little stuff in the background. The 3DS games to the 4S would be the ones requiring being watered-down and heavily optimized. Not saying the 4S sucks, but it's not exactly an ideal gaming device, at least not yet.

I knew Angry birds was coming, just wanted to mention it. I don't know about Zombie gunship, but GTA III I forgot about, and I want to see that badly...
