Topic: Final Fantasy IV Collection?

I agree with that as well. Personally, I already have both the virtual console and DS versions of FFIV, so I'd much rather see them remaking V or VI because I've never had a chance to play either one of them. But whatever the game turns out to be, I'm pretty sure I'll end up getting it anyway

I own the VC and DS versions too, and I still want to play through it again, haha. This game is freaking fantastic. Neither of these versions are perfect though -- the first one looks and feels dated, and the new one has framerate issues and a kind of washed out color palette. A nicely updated 2D version would be perfect. <3

hmm I know FF is going to be on 3DS but what is it? FF5, FF6, FF7?
or is it FF 4Hol 2 or something else, although I think if it was 4hol 2 it would be subed FF 4hol kinda like SMT Devil Survivor was for 3DS

I still hope VERY much on FF7 remake cuse ive only play a bit when I was 8 or so, and 3DS just seems righ
REASONS: NINTENDO duh, 3D is being a ca$h cow (what better then the "BEST" FF game) and the fact its time Nintendo actually had Cloud in a game besides KH

I agree. I would buy a 3DS instantly just for a 3D remake of FF VI, which is, imo, the best RPG to ever grace the planet.

On the one hand, the new abilities seem to make an already easy game even more easy, and the high encounter rate looks annoying.

On the other hand, it's absolutely gorgous and the music sounds nice, too.

I'll get it of course, and I can't wait to play it, but I am at least a little concerned now.

oh yeah I can't stand the old school FF sprites (...for whatever reason) so I approve of better looking ones.

Eh, it's early footage. It should get harder later on — I just didn't want to spoil things for people who haven't played it yet.

High encounter rates are annoying though, I agree. The DS version handled this really well IMHO.

I do agree with this. Perhaps Square-Enix could release IV V VI on the 3DS. Also Square could you release Dragon quest 7 and 8 for me on the 3DS please.. look at my user name Square look at it!

Man, that's gorgeous! That's actually what I'd rather have seen from Final Fantasy IV DS instead of the polygonal graphics (and FF III DS, though I was just happy to finally play the REAL FF III, 16 years after it's release). Simply a modern generation graphics upgrade, like the Super Mario Bros. games received on Super Mario All-Stars. Sounds like they're reusing the music from FF IV DS, instead of remixing the soundtrack, which is fine I guess. I would've been happy with the SNES soundtrack (and even prefer it over the DS version).

Now, if they'd do this with Final Fantasy V and VI (FF V especially, wanna see Boko in all his Chocobo glory, being all the Chocobo he can be ), that'd be Final Fantasy Heaven!

Looking forward to this collection, but I want to know what the Final Fantasy for 3DS is going to be so badly!!!

Edit: I just did a little research and found out you're supposed to be able to switch between the original SNES soundtrack and the arranged Nintendo DS soundtrack. Happy happy, joy joy!

Actually the music sounds better than the DS's. And yeah, I'd love an FFV port done in this style.

I hope the PSP doesn't get all the FF love. 3DS remakes of 4-6 would be day one buys for me.

i rather have them continue the remake series where they left in the DS.. with V and then VI, _{maybe even VII after them...}

Also... it's not like I don't like them, but i wonder why they insist in remaking them 2D for the PSP, when they made them 3D for the DS.

I dunno why, but I hope they continue with it. The 2D sprites look way better IMO.

Hard to explain, but there's just a kind of magic in Super NES music (I think the height of Castlevania music was that from Super Castlevania IV). I'd rather listen to SNES chiptunes than orchestra music 9 times out of 10. I just felt the FF IV DS remix lost a lot of the punch and expression of Uematsu's original SNES score (especially in the boss fight songs). I've gotta believe the 3DS will get plenty of love from Square, and hopefully V and VI are in their plans. And I'd get a FF IV version for the trillionth time too.

Somehow, it would feel as if order were restored to the video game world to see Final Fantasy from VII on hit the 3DS (or Wii). Final Fantasy was synonymous with Nintendo for so long, and it'd make the Nintendo fanboy in me smile to see VII, VIII, IX and so forth on 3DS or Wii. And to see them as...

...2D "demakes", in the style of the NES/SNES Final Fantasies! Just imagine Cloud cross dressed and in disguise like Celes was in the Opera House scene from VI as Setzer's obsession Maria! Um, not that Cloud cross dressed is something I'm dying to see, just to clarify, hee hee! And, yes, I think the 2D sprites look way better also.
