Do Xbox 360 and PS3 demos stay up indefinitely? Or do they get taken down after a game is released?

Most demos are on there permanently. There's no limit to how many times you can play it either.

Do you really think it's mooching to want to play demos that publishers offer for free on 3DS, especially considering how almost every other game system does the same thing?

Demos are nice for eShop games, but other than that I don't see what the big deal is.

That way you can try a game out before you decide to buy it. It's called smart-shopping, you won't be wasting your money on a potentially bad game.

Or you could just read a review online.

That is precisely what I said was nice; demos for the eShop games that don't get covered on every website and aren't always reviewed. Most games these days are sequels and many people already know what they want, and if they don't all they have to do is go online. Of course demos can be helpful, of course they can be a nice luxury. But I don't understand why some people are so excited over such a small feature, as if it was a new Zelda game or something.

Yeah, but it's waaaaay better to try out a game, get a feeling for how the game plays and what you can expect from it than to just read someone else's opinion on the game. I'm not saying that reviews can't be helpful (I probably would've ignored Rayman Origins if not for all the glowing reviews it got), but, at least for me personally, I prefer to actually play the game and make my decision based on that than just what some other people said about it.

I think we'll get some by January...unless Nintendo is going to give them to us as a Christmas present...along with the GBA Ambassador titles and Swapnote.

ikr sept for the gba thing because last time i checked i wasn't ambassador lol but other then that ikr!

I for one welcome the demos when they appear if they're honest snapshots of the games, not something pseudo slapped together on the side as they did a decade ago and earlier based off earlier builds or other junk because it can give you a false feel selling a lie.

Also, the re-download/ownership scroll panel of the 3DS is horrible how it works, I can only imagine how annoyingly cluttered it would get with all the demos in there. It's already bad enough old videos from E3 won't go away off that and haven't been shoved under another panel as it would make more sense, as would having some order to it.

I want a DOA and SSFIV3DS to know the one that fit more with me... All the review I've read so far didn't help making my mind... So now I didn't buy any of them because of that...

i thought nintendo wanted to put a demo of super mario land on the e-shop. now it is a bit late to release a demo for that game i think

I hope, we will got those four new demos wery soon! It would be sweet if we would get them today!
