People keep saying Revelations as having 20 hours of gameplay... But I'll imagine that ending up much more with the multiplayer mode.
So because you play a game in multiplayer the gameplay hours mean nothing?
Guess I've only played about 100 hours on Monster Hunter Tri than, rather than 400.

...except he was agreeing with you (I think). A little too happy and quick to point out how wrong others are perhaps?
Lol The whole point to my comment was that I personally believe Revelations will have more than 20 hours play time (for me at least) when you consider everything included in the game...
Sorry if I hit a raw nerve folks. I do that a lot <_<. But hopefully I can cool things down here.
Here's the crux of what I was saying:
1) If the game is worth $50, it's worth $50
2) If the game isn't worth $50, then you're not forced to buy it.
Capcom has the right to set whatever price it likes for its games - and it sets those prices at the highest possible amount it believes the market can bear, because it is a corporation, and it is driven by the need (not the want, the need) to turn the maximum possible profit.
If you're enough of a fan of Resident Evil, then you'll pay $50. If you're not, you're not required to buy the game.
That's why we have a free market - people are free to do what they like with their money. I've been critical of Capcom in the past, but for things where it has acted in an anti-consumer manner. Not allowing people to delete save games? That's anti-consumer, because it is forcing people into behaviours they might not agree with.
Now, if people were forced to buy this game for whatever reason, then ok, now there's a problem.
With that in mind - I actually agree with everyone. $50 US is more than I will be willing to spend for a Resident Evil game. I'd spend that for other games, but that's a different story. So yeah, I agree with you, LJM and kkslider.
What annoys me is that there are gamers out there that seem to think they should be able to buy a game at whatever price they believe is fair. Gaming is a luxury item, there is no entitlement. You buy it, or you don't. You're life isn't any worse off if you don't buy it.
It annoys me even more when you consider, by a simple hours/ dollar spent, gaming is by far the cheapest possible form of entertainment out there. Gamers really do have it good, and they don't seem to realise it.
So yeah, don't by a Resident Evil game for $50. Or, if you really like Resident Evil, do buy it.
When you can buy a 4GB SD card for 2 dollars more than a 2GB one.
Because the only cost difference in developing a game for a 2GB card, compared to the 4GB card, is the cost of the memory chip.

looks like that's what they're saying to me...? since they're attempting to blame it on the cart as opposed to just leaving it as the game being worth it, the point about SD cards is valid IMO.

It was poor wording on the spokesperson's part to imply it was just the physical size of the cartridge that was cause of the price increase.
Of course a game that's on a bigger storage media will cost more to produce; greater scale and all that. The bigger the game project the more expensive - for an extreme example, Final Fantasy XIII was a more expensive project than Final Fantasy XII.
Let's see how this all plays out. I'm sure Revelations will be a fine game, but the asking price may be too high to convince a lot of people.

Capcom is a HUGE corporation. This isn't some little company some guy and six of his friends run in the back room of his parents' restaurant. Saying tthe developers are suffering because of $10 on one game is pretty ridiculous when you're talking about a company this large. I'm all for paying what games are worth, but there's a line to be drawn. It doesn't matter how much it cost to make when the game doesn't have much to offer. 20 hours of gameplay is not worth $50, especially on a handheld. Going to the movies, the theatre, or other such events are completely different than buying video games, because the theatre is an actual sensual experience, rather than just sticking a piece of plastic into your console. And the argument that "[insert country here] have been paying $400 per game for years!" is a terrible argument. Just because your country makes it difficult for gaming companies to bring their games there doesn't mean everyone should have to be milked as much as possible.
$50? why is everyone getting so worked up about that? Here, Freakin super monkey ball, pilotwings and just about any other 3ds game is $60. And no one is complaining.

And Super Monkey Ball was 79, not 69 like everything else.
