"Resident Evil Revelations is an all new Resident Evil title with over 20 hours of gameplay, and cutscenes beautifully rendered in fear-inducing 3D. A true console experience on a handheld device, Resident Evil Revelations is an epic title that offers both a single-player campaign for that classic survival horror gaming experience, and an additional RAID mode that can be played cooperatively or single player. To handle all of that data Resident Evil Revelations requires a 4GB cartridge, resulting in a higher price point." - Capcom spokesperson
Ouch! Guess I'll be waiting for a price drop then.

Quality games deserve top dollar. already pre-ordered.
Please don't encourage 3rd-party developers to overcharge for handheld games. Other publishers may see this and jump at the opportunity to price-gouge consumers.
Console and handheld games are both overpriced. Prices need to come down in order for these systems to stay competitive in this new market of $1 smartphone games.
Wow. So you're complaining about paying $2.50 per hour for entertainment?
It sucks to be a games developer and publisher. Even when you make something people want, they have a cry because they can't be bothered paying $2.50/ hour for the hard work.

But if the game doesn't sale well, then future resources and projects for 3Ds won't be greenlit.
WAT!

If the game turns out as good as it's looking, I think it's a fair price. Capcom seem to be putting a lot of effort into making this a really good experience and people should be thankful for it, rather than complaining about the price.

So if they charged $100 for this game would you still buy it?
This is just a BS excuse from Capcom to try and milk as much cash from it's customers as it possibly can. They are testing the waters to see what they can get away with. The best thing to do if you want this game is to shop smart. You can pre-order it right now on Amazon for $39.99 so I recommend getting it there while you still can. That is what I did.
So they're going to make Vita games higher price too? Only fair right?
I'm all for games in general being more expensive. It's about time developers and publishers got paid properly.
It annoys me that gamers feel entitled enough that they "deserve" cheap-as games. Mostly because it's a childish, selfish attitude to have and by demanding prices stay down, those entitled gamers are preventing the entire flipping industry from being a healthy one.
Go try and buy a board game (for the good ones, up to $100), or take up a sport (Depending on where you live, up to $200/ hour for some lessons). Then you'll learn to appreciate how cheap games actually are.
So if they charged $100 for this game would you still buy it?
You don't think Capcom deserves money if they make a really good game?

Yep. I have a cousin who lives in Japan who pays that amount for games so why not.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
So if they charged $100 for this game would you still buy it?

@YellowChocobo: I guarantee that if this game sells well then you will see more games priced at $50 regardless of their quality. I don't see any of the PS Vita's games including Uncharted and Little Big Planet being priced more than $39.99. Are you saying that those games are of lesser quality than Resident Evil Revelations?
