I don't like to be that person who floats around game stores trying to make friends with everyone. The concept of befriending complete strangers based on the fact we have one similar interest is absurd to me.
I'm with this guy. If you want to be my friend I make you fill out a questionnaire and if we don't have at least five things in common it's a no go.
What does one have to do to take this quiz
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Who needs friends? I have acquaintances, people I like having a conversation and playing games with but have no real need to know anything more or give a flying pig about. People I meet on NL are for conversations and gaming over long distances.

For me, I just ask the three questions: How many walkers have you killed, How many people have you killed, and Why?
As long as the answer to the last question is "Because Bacon", we're golden.

You are a freaking jerk for stealing my pre-planned answer in case someone asked me what was on the questionnaire.
I've met quite a few of my friends through playing Monster Hunter (or Pokemon) at EB.
It's a good place to meet people that actually have similar interests to me.
I wouldn't hang out in just your typical game store without the designated space for playing games with people and using free Wi-Fi for 3DS though.
^never befriend someone because of Pokémon.... it always goes wrong..... one of them turned his back on me and helped the guys bullying me when I was a kid... the other turned his back on me and started bullying me by himself in college.... after those I'll only befriend Pokémon players with more motives than just Pokémon....
man, I guess I have a real trauma switch in my head......

@GuSilverFlame Sorry to hear that, that sucks.
Most of my Pokemon playing friends are also Monster Hunter players, and we're all sensible adults so there's no bullying or anything of that nature.

the worst part is tha I'm not a bullying target because I'm weak, it's the oposite I'm bullied because I'm afraid of hurting people(I'm too strong so I tend to break things or hurt people a little by accident) so they know I won't lay a finger on them....

If people try to bully you, just ask them nicely to stop.
Lifting them with one hand and holding them against a wall helps to get the point across.
@Morpheel lol I guess it might work too, I should give it a try next time!
back on topic: it would be awesome to have a special gaming hang out place! I mean I have the courts for Tennis and my non-gaming friends each have their own hanging out spot. but it would be nice to have a place with people that share this same interest in games or to simply relax alone when I don't feel like staying in my room, I mean tennis is fun but I don't get less physically tired playing it...

maybe if i didn't have two jobs, lol (technically three if you count NL...)
it might make sense if it were a smaller game shop, not like GameStop or anything, and if you're either a repeat customer or you're friends with the people who work there already. we have people like that who hang out here at job#2 all the time, they're either clients with nothing better to do than hang out for whatever reason or they're already friends or acquaintances and they just decide to chill with us for a while. we don't mind it, we've got the downtime, but if this was a busy game shop (like GameStop), it'd be pretty annoying.
another thing to consider is that at game stores we're all talking video games, and that's pretty much why I'm at NL — to talk video games when i'm interested in doing so. therefore, i don't really need a game store at which to hang, i can chillax on my couch with an adult beverage instead. :3
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3

My EB Games are pretty good, so sometimes I'll have a chat with the workers for a few minutes there, although I wouldn't say it's a place I go just to "hang out". I wish there was a place for gamers to hang out though. It would be nice.
