I've long predicted the November 7th release for the 3DS system in NA, but if we're talking about the date they'll announce the release date, I'm going with September 3rd.
I took it upon myself to research a logical date for the release of the Nintendo 3DS, and seeing that this glorious day falls on a Sunday, I herbey announce that the Nintendo 3DS system will be released on the 6th anniversary of the Nintendo DS system, that is, November 21, 2010.
(P.S. I'm with Corbie on when they'll announce the release date, September 3rd.)

yea it will be, the same three of us have also predicted November 7 to November 21st release dates, so it will be interesting to see if any of us are right. Of course i hope so! the sooner the better.

Jan - March 2011. I highly doubt it will release this year outside of Japan.
why does everyone think the 3ds will be released in japan first? both the ds and wii were in america first and those were VERY successful even with out-of-date hardware, and i doubt they would just stop a formula that was working with the 3ds

Don't gotta be rude Reggie said it'll be out before March 2011, so April is out. Doesn't matter when it's out though, I'm buying it day 1.
If it were to have a holiday release then I can imagine the sales would be immense, but I can only assume they know what they're doing. I would say it would end up having to compete with Kinect if released during winter, but judging from the look Miyamoto gave that thing, I doubt they're very worried about it.
The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.
I still don't think it will be released this year just because of how minimal the demos of 3DS games at E3 were. I feel like if it were releasing this year, there would be more stuff in the demos (like, y'know, the ability to play most of them ).
