@ricklongo strange, I didn't encounter any bugs when I played it but then again I didn't mess around with the bonus stages much. Shame that you had a buggy experience!
Not sure if @HylianJowi would agree but I find it so hard to even recommend some of these budget titles (even when they are well made) when you have games that are fully featured like Gunman Clive 2 for a dollar more. I had some fun with Frenchy Bird but I can't say I would spend money on it. eShop is at such a weird place at the moment and I am constantly struggling with how to deal with the changing landscape.
@sketchturner Like Dave mentioned there is a PG mode you can turn on in the options. Although its sense of humor is more just silly than anything. Has a pretty fantastic dig towards Zynga in it.
I had fun with the title (although I don't know if I would have purchased it with my own money). I feel like there is room for a fun sequel since the core gameplay is fun but there just isn't enough variety in the game.
There is a TON of content in this game. I just wish there was more variety to the gameplay. I really enjoyed the dialogue though (especially in the DLC levels) it really kept the game from getting too stale for me.
@brandonbwii I gave it a 4 or a 4.5 FWIW. Both reviews he RT'd glossed over the lag like its not a major issue which I find hilarious since it literally affects every second of gameplay.
I think there is a base for a semi-enjoyable game (although Feeding Frenzy is better so there is no real reason to buy this anyhow) but the lag makes it impossible to recommend.
@HylianJowi the way the dev talked to me is that it was an intentional decision to release it like this. He said it freed up memory for the engine (one of the NWF ones). Usually you'll hear "Oh this wasn't like this on the dev kit" or some excuse about unforeseen circumstances but the developer here made a choice to make it chug constantly to save memory. That is just insane to me. I don't know how you feel good about releasing this onto the eShop in the state it is.
The frame-rate literally made me sick while playing. Gave me a terrible headache and made me feel nauseous. Never had any issues playing a game before.
@ejamer That goes both ways though. A free market means Nintendo could choose not to release it. Same deal with Hatred on Steam. No game has a right to be on a service.
I'm not arguing either way here. Just saying Nintendo can choose to do what they want. They refused The Binding of Isaac for example.
@Varoennauraa yup. I had a lot of complaints about controls when I reviewed it. I enjoyed Castle Conqueror EX a lot more although that had some flaws too.
While I certainly enjoyed my time with the game more than you did I feel like your criticisms are spot-on. In the current marketplace its hard to recommend titles like these.
@TG1 Yeah the 2nd quest is a lot better. Its really silly that they lock away the enjoyable content though. Requiring you to collect every collectible to finally have fun is just bad design. I had next to no fun playing through the first quest.
@Windy I definitely enjoyed Gunman Clive more but I really liked this game as well. This game definitely has more content and depth than Gunman Clive and is a great value.
I'm really glad I had the chance to review this otherwise I would have never checked this out. Very pleasant surprise.
Online is dead, huh? Guess that is one of the problems when you review a game before its out. No real sense of if the online community is there or not.
I was able to find matches when I was reviewing it but it was all against other writers. Too bad, game is fun enough to where I was hoping it would have gotten its own little niche community.

Re: Review: The Stonecutter (Wii U eShop)
@HylianJowi I wonder what good looking guy told you about that recording?
Re: Review: Don't Touch Anything Red (Wii U eShop)
@GrailUK I don't think this game is worth anyone's money let alone their time.
Re: Review: Zombie Incident (3DS eShop)
@TomServo_89 Nice review, bro
Re: Gone Home Console Versions Are "Not Actively in Development Any Longer"
Curve Digital expressed interest in the title. Hopefully they (or another publisher) pick this up. I really hope more people can experience this.
Re: Review: Blek (Wii U eShop)
Great review @TomServo_89! Glad you dug this. I think its one of the eShop's best.
Re: Review: Dolphin Up (Wii U eShop)
@sketchturner OlliOlli is a lot more fleshed out. This is just a 2 minute high score session.
Nice review @HylianJowi

Re: Mobot Studios Aims for High Quality Fun at a Budget Price with Blocky Bot on Wii U
I really enjoyed Paper Monsters Recut (although it was way too easy) so this certainly interests me! Looking forward to it.

Re: Review: Quell Memento (3DS eShop)
Great review @TimLatshaw. Definitely one of the best puzzle games on the eShop!
Re: Review: uWordsmith (Wii U eShop)
Nice review @TimLatshaw. I love a good word game so this is rather disappointing :-/
Dev told me he was going to add more content in a patch but I'm not sure of what that will entail.

Re: Ninja Pig Studios Accused Of Stealing Pixel Art For Forthcoming Wii U Release Jumpy Cat
Stealing other people's work is as low as a developer can go. Gross.

Re: Little Mac's amiibo Appears to Have Actually Been Discontinued in North America
Glad I already have mine but it really stinks for those who haven't procured one yet! Disappointing to see how Nintendo has (mis)handled this.
Re: Review: MindFeud (3DS eShop)
This seems really neat. I hope it comes to NA
Re: Review: TOSS N GO (Wii U eShop)
@Tempaura what is inconsistent?
Re: Nintendo Download: 1st January (North America)
Nice little week of VC and discounts. Some great stuff to pick-up on discount!
Re: Review: A World of Keflings (Wii U eShop)
@andrea987 the developer said they want to but it seems like the US sales haven't done well enough to warrant the cost of releasing it in EU.

Re: Review: Meme Run (Wii U eShop)
Nice review @leemeyer26.
Although I feel bad that you had to review this :-./
Re: Review: Hazumi (3DS eShop)
Nice review @DRL. I agree with everything you said. Had the same criticism's when I played through it but its a really enjoyable game.
Re: Nintendo Download: 18th December (North America)
@GreatPlayer Excellent choice!
Re: Review: Castle Conqueror Defender (3DS eShop)
@KeeperBvK the latter, obviously. Why would I say I reviewed something if I didn't?
Re: Rosalina & Luma amiibo Exclusive to Target in US, as More Peculiar Defects Are Shown Off Online
@JaxonH @tasmans11 thank you both for the info. Much appreciated!
Re: Rosalina & Luma amiibo Exclusive to Target in US, as More Peculiar Defects Are Shown Off Online
Pre-orders are already sold out on Target's site
Only one I don't have / have ordered. :-/
Re: Review: GetClose: A Game for RIVALS (Wii U eShop)
@SKTTR yup and there are good ones coming like Starwhal.
Re: Review: Shiny The Firefly (Wii U eShop)
I really dug the very light stealth aspects in this game. Thought it was a fun experience despite it being over in a few hours.
Re: Review: Shiny The Firefly (Wii U eShop)
@Neko_Rukiafan you can but you still have to use gamepad for the magic abilities.
Re: Review: Christmas Wonderland 4 (3DS eShop)
The 2 year streak of Christmas Wonderland receiving a 1/10 has been broken!
Re: Nintendo Download: 11th December (North America)
@EyeCancer_Games Always nice seeing devs here on the site. Thanks for giving codes out to the readers!
Re: Frenchy Bird is Flapping Its Way to Wii U in Early 2015
At least it looks like some actual effort is going into it.
Re: UCraft Wii U Beta Plans Outlined as New Trailer Makes The Case for Upcoming Release
Best trailer I have ever seen.
Re: Review: Castle Conqueror Defender (3DS eShop)
@Varoennauraa yup. I had a lot of complaints about controls when I reviewed it. I enjoyed Castle Conqueror EX a lot more although that had some flaws too.
Re: Nintendo Download: 27th November (North America)
@Hero-of-WiiU Shin Megami Tensei IV was $50.
Re: Review: Castle Conqueror EX (3DS eShop)
Great review, Ron. I enjoyed my time with this when I played it a few weeks back. Gonna sink into the new Castle Conqueror 3DS game this weekend.
Re: Review: The Legend of Dark Witch (3DS eShop)
@keyblader1985 Strange, guess i was lucky enough to not have experienced that issue when I played through it for review.
Re: Review: Cosmophony (Wii U eShop)
@B3ND3R not nearly as many mechanics as Dyad but I definitely see the comparison.
Great review, Thomas! I've been enjoying my time with this game immensely.

Re: Review: Ninja Battle Heroes (3DS eShop)
@Dryden just summons.
Re: Review: Paper Monsters Recut (Wii U eShop)
@rjejr it isn't a LittleBigPlanet clone at all. Has none of the creating and sharing features that define LBP. Nor does it play like LBP.
Re: Ninja Battle Heroes
@Windy I definitely enjoyed Gunman Clive more but I really liked this game as well. This game definitely has more content and depth than Gunman Clive and is a great value.
I'm really glad I had the chance to review this otherwise I would have never checked this out. Very pleasant surprise.
Re: Ninja Battle Heroes
@Windy you unlock a hard mode after you complete the game.
Re: Review: Cubemen 2 (Wii U eShop)
@JakobU What is wrong with a game required to be played on the GamePad? Its really the only way this game could work on the Wii U.
