Its not the engine its the talent behind the engine. You can make amazing games on every engine if you have the talent. Unity is the most popular engine. Most wii u 3rd party aka indie games run the unity engine.

I looking the comments and some you guys don't know what you talking about.

1) The Nvida terga chip is 2x more powerful than the wii u. Yes the wii could run games like GTA 5 in 1080p 30 fps but not 60 fps. The wii u gpu is a customized AMD GPU7. Its more powerful than the xbox 360 and ps3 but the terga is more powerful than the AMD GPU 7.

Graphics on the Wii U can be summarized as follows.
The Wii U uses its own unique graphics API (GX2).
It supports Shader Model 4.0.
It is functionally equivalent to OpenGL 3.3 and DirectX 10.1.
It has a vertex shader, pixel shader, and geometry shader.
The Wii U can use hardware tessellation.
The Wii U uses its own unique shader language, based on OpenGL 3.3.

2) The wii u could run Unreal engine 4 but the Unreal does not support it. Bloodstain is running on the Unreal Engine 4 on the wii u dev kit also vita too.

3) The switch is not the successor of the 3ds and wiiu. The wii u successor is in works. Nintendo is making the wii u successor and maybe release in 2019 or 2020.

Mario Sunshine HD is real. Nintendo want to come on both switch and wii u that's why they did not announce it yet.

@RoomB31 Because the game was made in XNA/Mongames like mine game(going to announce it in 2 weeks), Axiom verge and most indie titles. The problem is the wii u don't support XNA/Monogames on Nintendo web framework. That's why the creator of axiom verge have to contact another developer to convert it in C++ or HTML5. Now Eric did not did that. Look the only way this game comes to any nintendo platform, it have to convert it to HTML 5, C++ or Java or rebuild the game in Unity. I am rebuilding my game in Unity to port the game on the Wii U. Also the PS4 and Xbox one (finally) supports Monogames not the Wii U, 3ds and the Switch.

Nintendolife is going to make an article this month. The official trailer is coming out in 3 weeks.

Second Zelda is coming out in Q3 2017. How I know this because its common sense. Nintendo did not say that Zelda is a launch title for the switch and neither coming out in March. The game is not finish yet. They need to polish the game that why they hire Monolith Soft to help them finish the game. Proof the Wii u is not dead. Nintendo still going to support the wii u until 2018. Mario golf wii u is a real game. So stop call me fake.Right now I am working hard to finish the game. I am making this game about 3 years. I am almost finish the I.E.L : Indo European Languages.

I hate saying this but Eric lied. The game was not in development in the first place. I am an indie game developer and star dew valley was created in xna/monogames like mine game( 3 years development) and axiom verge. The wii u don't support xna/mongames only way to port it you need to convert it in html or rebuild the game in unity. I knew this game will get cancel in the beginning. THE DEV LIED. ALSO STICKMAN STUDIO port axiom verge to the Wii u and they port star valley also on Xbox one and ps4.

@Aurumonado It not going to happen but one day. I like both Xenoblade but Xenoblade is better than the sequel. Tokyo Mirage sessions is better than XCX. XCX was not bad it really good and yes its better than Final Fantasy 15 (yes I play the full game). Problem with XCX is the story. XC have better story than XCX. Shulk still my favorite character. XCX plays like Xenogears (not a bad thing) but if they want to make a third one make it at least the first XC.

Look I am sorry for the rant. Its bothers me that most of you believe people who have no proof backing these rumors. Also I am a real developer. I have 3 games working for Nintendo because I sign a contract of nintendo. The first game is a 2d puzzle, educational, simulation game and its called I.E.L : Indo European languages. The game is going to release in 2017 for the Wii U and PC. I was making the game for 3 years. Second game is a Untiled Wrestling game. Third - A Nintendo franchise game (hint coming to Nintendo consoles). So yes I know what Nintendo is going to show at Jan 12, 2017. Most of these rumors or not TRUE. You cannot believe anything on the internet.

Porting something came out 7 months (Mario maker and Xenoblade X) make no sense at all. You people think the wii u is dead.
