Re: NIS America CEO Apologises For "Negative" PS4 Comments During Chat About SNK Heroines On Switch

@Ralizah I hardly comment on here but you took the words straight off my mouth. I originally saw this on PushSquare and god were the comments salty. Then I remembered one other place that reacts the same when it comes to Nintendo flamebaits, none other than sister site NL.

Even some of the comments around here are ok with this just because Sony is at the receiving end this time. Doesn't matter which company is involved, you don't bite the hand that feeds you, no matter how many other hands there are.

At the same time, I am enjoying following this predicament NISA is in. They're digging themselves a PR hole so deep, it would actually be fun to see how they crawl out of it.

Re: Random: There's A New Game On The Japanese Switch eShop That's Definitely NSFW

@sillygostly OK, first off. Those are my manhoes and I swore to fight for them, dignity be damned.

Those are called otome and they are aimed for women. As for dating games aka Galge in general, may I kindly point you in the direction of MangaGamer, Jast, Sekai Project and some other english publishers and you'll see they're not underrepresented at all. It's otome that's still underrespresented, not dating games with male protags.

Re: Review: Witch & Hero 2 (3DS eShop)

I remember the 1st game having low scores as well but there was a demo so I gave it a spin. Liked it for what is is and I guess I'll be grabbing this when it's on sale.

"limited gameplay, dull visuals and annoying repetition that so plagued the duo's first adventure"
"The total incompetence of the entire cast thus far is kind of hilarious, though we're not entirely sure that's intentional."

The game never presented itself as something grand and serious so I don't even know where this is coming from. It's a small, mindless and at time frustrating game but it's still a nice timewaster.

Victor was aqcuired by Marvelous in 2003, maybe Natsume wouldn't have had enough experience or whatnot to make their own farming game during that time. If Victor wasn't acquired, maybe BM would've died along with it.

What I do know is while BM just kind of felt stale as time went on, if it wasn't for Marvelous, we wouldn't have Rune Factory.

@TheWPCTraveler
Last I've read, Xseed will be the publisher for PopoloCrois: A STORY OF SEASONS. Release date is Winter 2015, but yea, no new news.

Yea, but the last BM game that Natsume was involved in was A New Beginning. After that, they announced that future games will now be published by Xseed. Which is leaps and bounds better in QA than Natsume (not that Natsume had any decent QA to begin with).

Re: Video: Check Out This Footage of Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories

There's a reason why Marvelous just handed Bokujou Monogatari's localization to their english branch, Xseed. Natsume's handling of the series QA has been dropping through the years. Crappy translations, buggy releases and censorship. So now that they're dabbling in game development, you can see the same amount of effort they put into their games. Half-assed.

They're relying on the Harvest Moon name to sell the games just as they relied on BM fans who's only means of playing the games are in english, crappy localization or no. They continue with these kinds of releases and their audience will dry up soon. Hopefully the fans do enough research and move on to Story of Seasons.

@robotoboy20 "Pokemon stays neutral, cute, and cool until the end."
Garbodor, Oshawott, Bidoof, Jessie and James, Ash and so on and so forth. Pokemon has its own derpy, silly and stupid parts.

"Most kids from my generation never really "out-grew" Pokemon"
Yep, too old for these kinds of games. When Pokemon came out, it was also labeled as kiddy, for babies, from gamers who were playing their half-life, starcraft, tomb raider and whatever "cool and grown up" games were popular in 1998.

"this is not for adults... perhaps parents, but not adults who don't have kiddos."
Who's to say that adults won't like this? I take a sneak peek at the episodes when my kid watches it and I find it funny and charming. It's something I'll be comfortable to leave my kid watching since there's nothing harmful about fart and poop jokes. I especially liked the episode with Meramelion (no idea what it's called in english yet) over-motivating the kids to clean and telling them the importance of giving your everything in anything you do. Yea, maybe not for adults, but kids are a big market. If a lot of kids like it in the west, duplicating the success in Japan is not impossible. (If it does, that Yokai Watch and medals will be selling like hotcakes)

Re: Nintendo Ditches Plans To Create New Hardware For The Chinese Market

They're not missing anything. A bigger population does not give better sales. F2P pc and mobile games are the ones striving there, not console games. They're not loosing anything by not doing business there. Even if Sony and MS are there, I doubt even half of the population even know or care about them. They're not building any fanbase.

Re: New StreetPass Mii Plaza Games Incoming, Along With Premium Mii-Related Content

piichan

I'm interested in the fishing game. I didn't get the other streetpass games so I don't know how it will work. Is it like the tower and puzzle games where it's unplayable unless you streetpass someone or will streetpassing just make it easier to reel in difficult fish/get better bait?

I really need a nice relaxing fishing game for the 3ds that I can play anytime.

Long time lurker here but decided to go ahead and make an account since I use the site everyday anyway

I always use this site to help in deciding whether to purchase it or not but I also double check the comments to see for other opinions. I'm always for multiple reviewers instead of one, gives you a better gauge how it is for different audiences.

So despite the 6, I'm still going to get this since I fell in love with the trailer.
