@Ade117 I agree it does look very cute. Could we be looking at a bag of peanuts as a pre-order bonus? 😂 From the trailer it seems to be giving Anya and SpyxFamily fans what they want with locations featured in the anime and classic Anya expressions. Who knows if the game does well enough we could get a Yor hack and slash game next or a mystery game staring Loid!
@UltimateOtaku91 It doesn’t appear there are any plans for a dubbed version as in the Nintendo Direct trailer it says “SpyxAnya: Operation Memories is only available with Japanese voice over and English on-screen text.” at the top.
Should mean we don’t need to wait as long for an international release but for people who only play with dubbed voices it will put them off, especially if they are on the fence about the gameplay.
I really enjoy the SpyxFamily anime but wasn’t expecting a game where you get to play as Anya. It looks really adorable and a light hearted, relaxing time. Plan to pick this up for sure but am hoping it won’t be a full price release.
I remember back in 2002 going into Toys R Us and seeing a Gamecube for the first time and not only that it was a demo unit so could play demo's of the launch games. It was great fun going to Toys R Us in the N64/early Gamecube era before I moved onto online ordering.
I still try and visit GAME stores rather than ordering online as I like going to a store and still buy physical games.
Been waiting to play Yooka-Laylee since I backed the project on Kickstarter nearly 2.5 years ago. I played the demo on Xbox one at EGX 2016 and really enjoye it so despite some of the criticism the game originally received I am confident with the patch they added it will live up to my expectations.
There have been so many times I have wanted to just get the PS4 version but each time made the decision to wait fir the Switch version. After waiting this long to play it a fortnight seems no time at all!
Been so busy with Breath of the Wild forgot there are more games coming to Switch soon. Snake Pass will likely be my first download game I get on Switch unless Playtonic reveal the Yooka-Laylee release date is 11th April for Switch like the other consoles.
As a Nintendo fan since the N64 days and having got every Nintendo system at launch since DS it is sad to say I won't be getting a Switch at launch.
Whilst Breath of the Wild looks incredible and the trailer got me hugely excited for the game and I can't wait to explore the world the launch line up is not enough to sell me on the system in the first 6 months.
Breath of the wild can be played on my Wii U, a battle mode and a few more characters isn't enough to make me get Mario Kart 8 again and whilst I loved Splatoon it isn't enough to make me buy a Switch.
I was hoping for more to be announced as Wii U releases have been so limited since the end of 2015 really. I thought Nintendo were releasing games like amiibo festival because they were devoting all there resources to the Switch but at the moment the only new classic Nintendo games in the pipeline are Splatoon 2 & Mario.
I think Mario Oddessy might be the game that makes me buy the Switch but that does depend on what else is announced for 2018.
Also the cost is a factor £280 for the Switch, £60 for a game, £50 for a pro controller as not sure how comfy the joy con grip controller will be and then another £20 for a carry case and game cart case. Also you most likely want some headphones if you playing on a train or something and want to be immersed in your game. That's at least £410 to set yourself up which is a huge ask.
I love Nintendo and I know they will release some great games but the fact so many fans of the company like me on a site like Nintendo Life are saying at the moment they are not getting one at least for a while isn't a good sign.
I had been following Rime when it was been developed exclusively for PS4 and was thinking of getting it for that console when it came out but if it reviews well will most likely end up getting it for the Switch due to the portability factor.
Looks really good, hopefully it plays well. Starting to get hyped for the Switch now. If the event in January has enough good titles and third party is strong I will pick one up soon after launch but don't expect to be getting one on launch day.
After the Wii U I worry that a similar situation could occur with the Switch but am trying to be hopeful it won't!
I had been wondering over the last week if this would happen as the Wii U will be all but dead by the time the game comes out on PS4 & XBONE.
Whilst Playtonic haven't said what the technical difficulties they encountered are if the version on Wii U ran drastically different to the other versions then it would feel like everyone who backed the Wii U version was missing out compared to other console owners.
I actually backed the Wii U version and whilst I have a PS4 it just feels right playing it on a Nintendo console.
I am happy Yooka Laylee will be coming to the Switch as lets be honest people who have backed this game for Wii U on Kickstarter are going to be adults with disposable income and will likely be die hard Nintendo fans so will be getting a Switch anyway.
Who knows with Playtonic saying more details are coming next month on Twitter it could well mean it could be coming out on 11th April for Switch like the other versions.
I purchased my Wii U on launch day and played it regularly in 2012, 2013 & 2014. I really enjoyed NSMBU at launch as I felt it tried to be more original with the level design after the disappointment I had when playing NSMB2 a few months before.
In 2013 Wind Waker HD came out and it meant I could actually play through the whole game without giving up at the triforce hunt. DKCTF was an excellent follow up and I loved every minute of it and Mario Kart 8 with some great course design was excellent.
But as the games have dried up so has the amount of time I am spending on my Wii U. The only games I have got this year are Twilight Princess HD and Color Splash. To my surprise I quite enjoyed Color Splash and it gave me a decent sized adventure to play on the console.
I have enjoyed the library of titles overall and there are some true gems on the system.
I do feel Nintendo gave up on the gamepad to quickly and the few times I have used off TV play I have felt it is a great feature.
There is no doubt I have spent more time on the PS4 this year than the Wii U but if the Switch is getting all the rumoured games then II could see that changing next year.
My biggest disappointment with Wii U is that we will never get an exclusive Zelda title something that when I got the Wii U on launch day I thought was a guarantee.
I don't know if I will get a Switch at launch it all depends on the launch line up, for me when Zelda will be released is a deciding factor. Would be great to pick up the Switch with a brand new Zelda title so if I have to wait until middle of next year to get a Switch them so be it I just hope the Switch is more successful for Nintendo than the Wii U!
It really impresses me how over 4 months from release we are still getting new content for Splatoon that is completely free. Any other developer would have started charging weeks ago for new courses, weapons etc but not Nintendo!
@crimsontadpoles I have done the sme as well. Am keeping my boy &I girl amiibo with GAME and ordered Splatoon with the squid amiibo on Amazon.
Luckily I signed up to Amazon prime a few months ago so am still able to get the game delivered on launch day and the amiibo will arrive a few days after that. Maybe on Saturday if game still send them 1st class.
It's nice to see game trying there best to help customers affected by this by offering a discount. Got to hand it to them they are making the best of a bad situation that was completely out of there control. As other people have said I hope the driver wasn't hurt.
I can't believe this has happened, just seen an email from GAME informing me that thieves have stolen my copy of the Splatoon Special edition. I hope thieves didn't target the lorry knowing what was been transported hoping to make money off the Amiibo.
@DoctorOverbuild Thanks for the tip will get in contact with GAME and keep my Amiibo and order the special edition elsewhere
Have never given to a kickstarter before but had to give to playtonic considering their heritage and the fact this game is basically banjo-three with a different main duo.
I went for the 64 bit edition, can't believe we are nearly at the £1,000,000 mark in less than 24 hours. I think playtonic should start thinking of more stretch goals!
I have never backed a kickstarter project before as there is so many it seems like a huge gamble to see if the goal is reached and the game could turn out to be rubbish but hearing the passion from Playtonic gives me a lot of hope. Plus Banjo-kazooie and some of rare's earlier work are some of my favourite games of all time I will certainly be pledging a bit of money towards this.
I had only placed my order with the Nintendo UK online store last weekend and had not ordered with them before but looks like I will be cancelling it now.
To me this always seemed like the perfect Christmas game and I can see myself playing it on Christmas day so will have to either get it Christmas Eve or see if I can ask for it for Christmas instead. Captain Toad has been a game I have been really looking forward to so if I can get it earlier I certainly will!
So far we have seen around 8 stages and a boss fight. I hope there is still plenty more to discover in the finished game. I am interested to know how each island is layed out and how you get between each one, perhaps Funky's flights will return? As other people have said hopefully there will be some animal buddies, perhaps Enguarde will return for the underwater stages?
How many levels do people think there will be in the game?
Really pleased to finally see a new DKCTF trailer but why we could not of seen this last week when everyone who was really looking forward to playing the game in 2013 was told it would not be released until early 2014 I don't know. Seeing Dixie Kong in levels where it was previously just Donkey and Diddy makes me think you can select between the two characters. Like a few other people have put it would be fantastic if there was a stage where it was just Diddy and Dixie.
Whilst the trailer shows that the rocket barrels will be returning does anyone else think the part where they are zooming along the vines indicates a new type of stage? Perhaps the whole of that level is like that?
Anyway this trailer has got me more hyped about the game, the only thing that would make it better would be if Nintendo announced a special edition which came with a figure of Donkey Kong and a DKC series soundtrack!
