Re: Wii U Advert Banned In The UK

mastersworddude

@DarkKirby
The problem with your examples is simple.
Is it reasonable to think redbull will give you actual wings or that stuff will fly out of the 3DS?
No, not anyone with common sense.

Is it reasonable to think the WiiU will allow off-TV play for every game?
Yes, unless you actual know it does not by looking it up, the ad dosen't clarify you can't.
It's not common sense for some without knowing about it to think "Well OBVIOUSLY it will only work with some games."

It's that simple, and you are sounding like a Nintendo fanboy, because you are trying to bring up an unreasonable point rather than just using common sense.

Re: Nintendo Is Not Working On Fix For Wii U's Slow OS

mastersworddude

@luminalace
Negative articles will stop once Nintendo stops making questionable decisions. (And I don't see how the Youtube thing is a shot at Nintendo, it was Google's fault in the first place.)
If you think Nintendo Life is out to bash Nintendo, I wonder what you think about most general gaming sites.

Re: Nintendo Is Not Working On Fix For Wii U's Slow OS

mastersworddude

Doubt they would bother to fix it anyway.
The lighter apps are HTML-based. In those instances, starting up a web renderer every single time is incredibly inefficient.
If they wanted to do it like that, they should have made the entire OS and every app HTML-based, then use a single web renderer to view it all.
Switching apps would take less than a second if they did so.
They'd have to rework the thing, the way they load apps needs to change, and any apps that are native would need to be rewritten in HTML.

@PokeTune, What do you expect? NLife has quite a lot of Nintendrones that defend everything Nintendo does.

Re: Nintendo Is Sorry For Wii U Load Times, Is Working On A Fix

mastersworddude

From the sounds of things, some apps are HTML, some are native, and since the OS can't tell which is which, each HTML app is it's OWN web renderer that needs to start up every time. Kind of like every VC game including it's own emulator.

And I see the Nintendo defense force has come out strong here, I guess Nintendo can do no wrong, and anyone who calls out their backwards decisions are haters.
Remember guys, if it isn't over a minute, then it isn't slow!

@Buzzthebatgirl What does that have to do with anything? It's nearly 2013, it's dumb that loading the Youtube app takes so much longer than the function does on pretty much every other modern hardware.
But hey at least it's faster than 20 year old hardware, you ungrateful haters!

Re: UK Press Pins Blame For Sandy Hook Massacre On Video Games

mastersworddude

I am face palming so hard right now.
It's ignorant attempt to find something to blame for what happened with no evidence to support it.
He had pictures of guns in his basement? He liked tanks? Must of been a military video game that caused him to kill children.
He played Dynasty Warriors? A fantasy game about sword fighters in ancient Asia? Must of influenced him to steal a gun and shoot children.

Re: Feature: We've Unboxed A Wii Mini So You Don't Have To

mastersworddude

wow.
Reaaallly bare bones.
Went out of their way remove ANY possible internet connection, and also went and removed component cable support, so you're stuck with murky RCA picture. It's just hard for me to believe ANY modern gaming console, revision or not, is exclusively RCA compatible.
100$ is too much IMO.

Re: Hacker Claims To Have Deciphered Wii U CPU and GPU Speeds

mastersworddude

Has there been a single positive hardware leak so far? Honest question, so far everything seems to disappoint even modest expectations.

I still don't understand why the Wii U is being sold at a loss. Everything sounds like it's dirt cheap to produce. Even the GamePad is hardly a marvelous piece of high end hardware...
Oh I know why, CPUs with these kinds of clock speeds must be super rare to find in 2012.

Re: The Wii U CPU Is "Horrible" According To Metro: Last Light Developer

mastersworddude

@Ren Yup this happens anytime someone dares to criticize Nintendo or the WiiU, and if any of the complaints turn out to be valid, everyone just says "It's not a big deal" or "I don't care about anyway"
It seems like everyone was hyping what the Wii U about it's power, multiplatform games, and online, but now that it's out and everyone is fine with Nintendo missing common things that consoles have had for 6 years.

Re: Talking Point: The Message in "I'm Not a Gamer" Commercials

mastersworddude

I think most people are angry because they thought Nintendo was going to try and attract the "core" gamers back, but then they come out with the WII U that seems to target the "Wii" audience again, and a commercial campaign actually called "I'm not a gamer." It's not hard to figure out why some gamers are ticked.

And also, I wouldn't consider the 3DS the best device to buy for your non-gaming needs.

Re: Mega Man Fans Troll Capcom Following iOS Social Game Announcement

mastersworddude

@WingedFish They ignored Street Fighter for a while when people stopped buying it after they drove it into the ground, now that Sreet Fighter IV was a hit they will milk every last drop of the series through DLC and multiple versions.
That is what Capcom does, as soon as something stops being profitable with minimal effort (releasing multiple updates to the same game).
Once people stop buying their BS, they abandon it instead of trying something different.

Re: Mass Effect 3 Extended Ending on Disc for Wii U

mastersworddude

@Koos No.
This and KH and MGS are not similar.
Here you have an overarching story that reflects your actions, it makes you feel immersed rather than just watching things play out. (Though in ME3 it's become more like that, too much auto-dialogue. Not enough choices to develop your Shepard like in the other games.)

Re: 3DS XL Will Get Its Own Circle Pad Pro

mastersworddude

@Tasuki
Seems like people don't bother to think why Nintendo did not put a second circle pad on the XL, it's simple really.

For some games it'd go underused and be pointless (theres not exactly many games where its 100% neccessary) and just sit there.
For others it'd be overused, developers marketing straight at the new XL crowd. Basically it'll become a new console, with cheap crappy ported controls to the non-XL customers.

This way it becomes niche enough to please those who really want it, whilst not fragmenting the system.
