Re: Wii U Power Lacks a 'Generational Leap'

mastersworddude

I agree with Alucard, whine about how graphics aren't everything all you want, but a consoles power isn't all about the graphics.
Without power it won't be able to run high intensity games, that need processing power.
So yes, in some cases you do need a powerful console to get the full experience of a game.

Re: Rayman Origins 3DS Hits North America on 5th June

mastersworddude

I played the demo, I didn't like it much. The images seem blurry, Rayman is too small, and the sound effects are rough sounding.
I assume this is because of the porting process, I'm sure if they had more time they could make it just right, but it's not really worth it for them to waste time on a game thats been out for months already.
the 3D is nice, but it would be better if the game wasn't blurry.
If you want this game, I suggest the other versions.

Re: Feature: Three reasons Why Mario's Next Adventure Should Visit Subcon

FYI Doki Doki Panic DID start as Super Mario Bros 2 but it was scrapped because it was difficult to program, so Nintendo just released a level pack of sorts, The Lost Levels as SMB2 in Japan.
The original SMB2 was changed into Doki Doki Panic when Nintendo made a deal with Fuji Television and edited the game and characters.
When NOA said The Lost Levels was too difficult, Nintendo changed the game back into a Mario one and released in NA.

Re: Rumour: SEGA Preparing a Third Sonic Storybook Game

mastersworddude

Wow, nice to see people judging a game when we know nothing about it. How about the people here stop being so incredibly biased, and wait until we see the actual game than judging based on a name. Just because it's going to be a storybook title doesn't mean it's going to suck. If SEGA was been making good Sonic games recently, what makes people think this one will suck? Because it's part of a sub-series that got mixed reception? In the end it's just a name.

Re: 3DS eShop Has Officially Opened Its Doors

mastersworddude

Once again Nintendo is stubborn as ever. I mean, why is your purchases stuck on one console? Why can't we have an account system? Why can we only buy credits in increments of 10$ when the software starts 2$? Nintendo seems to be so restrictive in it's online approach. When online is such a huge part of the industry right now, I doubt Nintendo is trying to attract "Core" gamers with shops like this. I mean say what you will about the PSP's online but at least the PSN shop was much more flexible and offered more content than the Wii's Shop and this eShop. (Which knowing Nintendo will take a LONG time to get a good selection of games and VC titles up.) Honsestly, I doubt Project Cafe will stand a chance next gen if it doesn't have an online at LEAST superior to the PS3/360's. I like Nintendo a lot but it frustrates me to see them stay so conservative in their online features. (Which is ironic considering the tech of the console is always innovative.)

Re: Sonic Generations 3DS Rumours Gain Speed

mastersworddude

I think people are overreacting about Modern Sonic. It's just a redesign, Sonic looking different didn't make the games suck, it's because Sega didn't bother polishing the games and rushing it because they knew they would a lot of money anyways. Sonic having his classic design doesn't make the game any better if Sega doesn't put any effort into it. FYI Sonic games have always been aimed at kids, even classic Sonic games were never very hard.

Re: Rumour: Wii 2 to Cost $350, Support 3DTVs, Out in October

mastersworddude

Alright, now I am starting to get skeptical about these rumors. I mean usually Nintendo's hardware are a more affordable option to the other consoles, so 350$ I think is bit of a stretch for casual gamers to hand over, and I highly doubt it would be out in October since I have a feeling Nintendo will be pusing the 3DS and Skyward Sword this Christmas (Or whatever else is announced at E3. Hopefully Pikmin 3.)

Re: Sega Strikes Poor Sonic Games from Catalogue to "Increase Brand Value"

mastersworddude

I’m not quite sure what Sega thinks this will do exactly. It just looks as thought they’re trying to cover up everything and ignore it all which, protip, doesn’t work. Ever.
It’s not even going to save money, what are they going to do with the copies they pull back? Burn them? Sure, they could stop producing them but pulling it all back seems like a stupid move.

Yes, 06 was a rather poor game, it had glitches and those damn loading screens, it was a poor example of a Sonic game in several respects. However, some people loved it for varying reasons.
Unleashed? That was almost a step back on track after 06, sure some people might not have liked the werehog but some people did and the Sonic stages were pretty decent.
Black Knight and Secret Rings, they were little side games and there was visible improvement between them. They were simply shorter games which you could pick up and wave around with timing.
I know that Chronicles was seen as a bad game by many but, really, I found that one hilarious. If only for the fact that Shadow sounded, looked?, as though he was throwing a tantrum half the time.
As for Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games? I liked that one over the first one. Why? Because I didn’t have the bruise my arm trying to get the events done with.
And why the heck is the Second Riders going when it was an improvement?

Me thinks that they’re not listening to the audience, and don’t really care about the people they’re aiming for, and are just trying to please reviewers. You know what? I frankly couldn’t care less about what a reviewer says or what score a game gets. I buy a game because it looks appealing, not because it got a high rank from some guy with nothing better to do.
Besides, by this point there are a number of reviewers who will simply score every Sonic game low unless you’re mashing your right button and scrolling to the side.

Stupid move.
