Re: Circle Pad Pro Hits Europe in January 2012

lex0plex

I'm not buying any add-ons for my 3DS. Next year I guarantee they will release a 3DS lite or something similar with 2 circles pads and longer battery life all built in. The price of this accessory, the battery pack accessory and the $ I get from selling my current 3DS will pay for most of the upgraded system. I can wait

Re: Iwata Unsure if Nintendo Will Sell Wii U At a Loss

Here is what I suggest:

Nintendo should sell the Wii U at at a loss and release it in summer. Launch games should include at least 3, popular franchise games (a Pikmin, Donkey Kong, and Mii game for example). Near Christmas, bring the price of the system up a bit, but include things like an extra controller or game and have several 3rd party games out or coming out by then.

Also they should try to keep game quality higher than most of the games that came out on the Wii and the Wii U should have great online features like an online profile and achievements. It should also support DVDs.

Re: Nintendo Developing New Game Genres to Revitalise 3DS

lex0plex

Glad to hear this. With the announcement of the Wii U, it sounded like Nintendo was going to abandon all of the "new" gamers who bought the Wii since they were talking about how they were focusing again on hard-core gamers. I'm not much of a casual gamer, but it would be suicide for Nintendo to ignore them. Hope this turns out well!

Re: Investors Urge Nintendo to Develop for Smartphones

lex0plex

Not sure if anyone mentioned this already since there are a TON of comments (and i skimmed rather fast), but I can see Nintendo moving away from their usual 2 platforms. With the WiiU, it seems as though they're combining the DS and Wii and I think that is a very good decision. Since they don't have much 3rd party support, they can focus on making really good games on their platform and leave Apple and Sony to make those portable gaming phones. I always thought Nintendo was best at making immersive video games for their television consoles anyway...

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Makes Bold Move with the 3DS

I hope the red 3DS will be available in North America soon!

And I am completely satisfied with receiving 20 games free. My only beef is the cost of these old games on the 3DS, It just seems like a cheap way for Nintendo to make even more money. Some 20 year old games you can download for free on an emulator. Doesn't seem worth the 5-10 dollar price tag on some of them...

Re: Wii U Touch Screen is Resistive, Not Capacitive

lex0plex

I think the capacitive touch screen would work better for a gaming divice. The ability to track multiple points would come in handy! This system already seems to have enough different controllers to pick up too... It would also make as a menu for a single player game much more fluid. It would really be annoying to have to pick up the stylus in the middle of the game to change items.

PLUS a capacitive screen lets more light through making for a brighter display. And I actually wouldn't mind if Nintendo made the screen smaller to reduce the cost. I hope they make the right decision.

Re: Nintendo has no Desire to be Number One in Online Gaming

lex0plex

I am surprised that Nintendo keeps saying things like this. It's like they're limiting themselves. Good, but not great internet. Good, but not great graphics. Good, but not great touchscreen. So what will be great about this system, Nintendo?

I see potential in the Wii U don't get me wrong. I guess time will tell...

Re: Rhythm Heaven (tentative) (Wii) E3 2011 Trailer

lex0plex

Not sure yet how such a fantastic handheld game would fare on a console... Must have something far more than just musical minigames.

I think if great music was tied together with precise controls, an interesting story, great graphics, multiplayer play and online features, it will still only fare 7-8/10. For it to surpass it's predecessor and become worthy to be a console game it would need very strong replay value.

Re: Rumour: Wii U is 50% More Powerful Than PlayStation 3

@ Rapadash6

Good points, but I think it will be easier to make ports for WiiU than the Wii because one of the the main problems with the Wiimote is that it didn't have enough buttons. The WiiU controller has all the necessary buttons plus a touch screen that can be used for countless gameplay improving features. That, with the HD graphics, is what will make 3rd party developers WANT to release games on the WiiU.

Re: First Impressions: Nintendo Wii U

lex0plex

There are three things I am looking forward to:

  • Using the screen as a menu
  • Using the camera to look through
  • HD graphics

I like how Nintendo is thinking about improving gameplay rather than innovating it like they did with the Wii.

... and I'm sure the buttons will feel nice once they release the system.

@ballkirby1
My thoughts exactly... what happened to making sure a game was amazing before releasing it? Nintendo official seal of quality means absolutely nothing these days...

EDIT:
I mean third party games of course. Most Nintendo games are quality titles
