Re: See Mega Man 9 In Action

I don't understand. I "get" the retro appeal but wouldn't it be better if they were building a new HD (well as far as the Wii can go) 2D Mega Man game?

Re: Mega Man 9: WiiWare Exclusive

I don't see why they can't make a game with the same physics as a NES game but just reskin it in HD or something? Isn't that the natural progression now. Sure I love the retro look but...

@KnucklesSonic8: playing this game reminded me of the awful pain I got from trying to play Banana Blitz. Just never worked for me - straight up hurt to be honest.

I reckon if you could play a painless game of BB you might be ok with the controls here.

@Starfox_UK: Sadly no "puzzle mode" (as you appear to be reffering to) but I'm not sure whether it would work so hot with this type of game. This is definitely a fast and furious kind of puzzler and I think the modes that are included reflect that.

Re: WiiWare Publishers Lament Release Date Shambles

Hang on, hang on. XBOX Live Arcade is filled with shovelware so I definitely don't think they are doing it right. PSN hold back releases to make it look they've got a constant steady stream. Looks to me Nintendo are doing a similar thing with WiiWare. They should set release dates though.

Re: Guitar Hero: World Tour Adds Drum Support

This Guitar Hero/Rock Band is getting ridiculous. All games specifically require their own hardware and surely one set of drums is enough.

These games will always be superior on PS3/XBOX360 because of their respective store downloads.

Can I please just clarify for everyone that says this game has scoreboards. It has rankings for the Wi-Fi battle but as far as I am aware there is certainly no way of getting a high-score in single-player and then sending it to a scoreboard. Singleplayer is basically "what's the best score you can get?" gameplay and therefore a SCOREBOARD here is essential. Hence the point in my review. If I've overlooked that SCOREBOARD then Nintendo must have seriously hidden it because all I see is a meaningless LEADERBOARD for the Wi-Fi battles.

@Simbabbad: I appreciate your comments. I reviewed the game as I see fit. If we share a difference of opinion then fair enough. I'm glad you're enjoying the game.

Germ Buster essentially shares the same gameplay mechanics and no amount of falling objects or messy co-op change that for me.

I can not comment on any other review but my own.

Re: Review: Dr. Mario Online RX

@ Simbabbad: There are only multiplayer rankings (which in my opinion do not showcase who is best and worst at the game in any way). There appears to be no way of showcasing your highscore in the single player mode.

Also you must take into consideration the value for money aspect. Pop is cheaper and so is rated on its merits as value for money.

@Raptor - You're not wrong in saying that the online works exceptionally well. I haven't had trouble match-making yet. Some people are blimming good though aren't they? Damn you "Chris" whoever you are.

I'm so torn. GTA4 is a very, very, very good game in a different way to OOT. GTA4 has definitely set the standard in story telling, character development and voice acting for me.

I hate the way it pretty much tells you what to do all the time however. It's not as flawless as some reviews have stated but it's still up there - right up there.
