Re: Poll: Who's Your Favourite Resident Evil Playable Character?

I had to vote Grace. She is constantly emoting with terror as you explore and fight enemies, making playing as her incredibly immersive. She has an actual, human response to what is happening in the game, which adds so much to the experience, I think. And let’s be honest here, THIS is how we would all be reacting if it were us! Scared out of our wits! Capcom knocked it out of the park with her sections of Requiem.

@Juanblue85 Yeah honestly I would likely get the game if it was reasonably priced. I like Fallout, and S2 will be a great home for the game. But the base game is on sale for $8 on the PS store right now, so why on earth should we have to pay $60 to play it on S2?! I get that it took resources and time to put it on the system, but c’mon! Nintendo needs to be done with this trend of ‘10-year old game is NEW again bc it’s on our system, so pay us full price’.. I’m sure Bethesda is at fault as well.

@jsty3105 And I think that was nuts too! 🤪 It’s a 10-year old game. They’re banking on the success of the show to convince people to pay full price for a game that, frankly, wasn’t even the best Fallout game. They probably think that if they charge full price, it’ll look like a new game, lol! Taking a page out of Nintendo’s book, here.

How about a NEW Fallout, Bethesda?! THAT I’d pay $60 for, for sure…

Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For Super Mario Bros. Wonder - Switch 2 Edition + Meetup In Bellabel Park

@carlos82 I agree 100% about the Switch 2 upgrades. I can understand selling the DLC content, but then locking the performance upgrades behind them is frustrating. We already bought the new hardware, and now we have to pay more for the games to actually play like they should on the system? Lame…

Mario Wonder was a bit disappointing for me. What I did enjoy most about the game was altering gameplay styles with the badges. Lots of ways to play! Levels were a let down throughout the first 3/4 of the game though. B+

Re: Pragmata Looks Awesome In New Switch 2 Trailer, Free Demo Arrives Today

Really enjoyed the demo on Switch 2. Looks a bit rough in handled (I haven’t tried docked yet), but was surprisingly playable.Hacking, dodging, and shooting robots was real fun! Art direction is a bit lackluster, but the robots look cool. I hope the story goes somewhere interesting, too…Will likely end up getting this for PS5, but seems like a great port.

Re: Review: MIO: Memories In Orbit (Switch 2) - An Accomplished, Visually Stunning, But Familiar Metroidvania

Just purchased. Absolutely fantastic game so far! Love the art direction (WOW) and the gameplay is tight and exciting. Very atmospheric, lots of fun exploration. Bosses are challenging. Yes it wears its influences on its sleeve (NeiR Automata, Ori, Hollow Knight, Metroid, etc.), but it feels fresh and really exciting to play. Only a few hours in, but highly recommended!

Update: I love this game so much 🥰

Re: Talking Point: Metroid Prime 4 And The Burden Of Being 'Good Enough'

Opposite take: I found myself looking for others online who were disappointed, to validate my own feelings… Was I crazy? The game… isn’t great, right? I am near the finish line, and still have pretty mixed feelings. Loved the beginning, but by around 5 hours it was all feeling very stale. Checking boxes, getting powers that I’d seen before (adding “psychic” doesn’t make it new lol), and finding the linear nature of the game boring. But then I got to the mines, which felt exciting again, as did the late-game clean-up (they should have dolled out spider ball much earlier and added more puzzles). I do enjoy riding the bike, the NPCs aren’t terrible (I actually liked the robot), and when the powers are used creatively for puzzles (the psychic charge beam is awesome and SO underutilized) it felt fresh. I’ll know soon after rolling credits how I feel, but right now I can say it’s been a roller coaster; “high highs and low lows” describes it well. I just hope that this doesn’t kill the Prime franchise for good… I spent $200 in total on this game (cartridge and all 3 Amiibos) to show support, which admittedly has me feeling a little burned. But I am still hoping this is just the beginning of a new generation of Prime games, and that Retro learns from the critiques of Beyond and, next time, brings us something truly transformative. Metroid feels like it’s ready for it’s ‘Breath of the Wild’ moment, in the sense that it needs to try something wholly new, but very thoughtfully so and with innovation in mind. The formula is becoming a bit stale across the board, unfortunately. I’m ready for Bloober Team’s survival horror Metroid, please!
Dog bless Metroid.

Re: Poll: So, Now The Dust Has Settled, How Did You Find Myles MacKenzie?

ear__wig

I’m not super far in, but not at all bothered by Myles so far. The hints out in the desert are annoying though… Also like others have said, it’s weird that Samus doesn’t talk. Obviously they’re doing a “Link” thing, but it feels sort of odd. They could have had her speak without it turning into Other M. The way they handled the Traveler in Cronos: The New Dawn is a fantastic example of great casting and minimal dialogue having a big impact.
