@EJD: Providing I can get the cash together and find a place to trade in my DS lite now that my local Game has shut down, then yes, yes I will.
RE: World of Goo DSiWare Look on the bright side: the screen might have been a bit small for all those goo balls anyway. and no doubt Ron and Kyle have got something better up their sleeves!
So I just rang up my local Game store to pre-order the white console... and the store's closed down! I'm not too sure how I'll get it now, since I want to trade in my lite for it, and get a hefty bunch of reward card points as well (totalling £7.50, I do believe - enough for my first batch of Nintendo Points!). Either way, I'm not going to be impulse buying over the next two months
well if its only 10 I might as well just say that this game will be #1 on the charts as soon as it comes out. Not necesarily - remember that many of the same people have been posting, and some people are just complaining about not getting a NA release yet. Here, it's at three, just below My Aquarium and World of Goo, and just above Pop Up Pirate!
If it was coming to Europe, then I'd give it a go, but HVS is just losing potential customers after refusing to release it outside North America. Silly fools.
Ah - that's a shame. And after hearing exactly how it works, I must say that the controls sound like a downscaled version of those in the final shooting missions in PLATTCHEN twist 'n' paint.
Also: is this the new reviewer? Hello there, reviewer person!
I think that the idea to make a prequel makes perfect sense: clearly, people weren't going to choose a Wii version of Dead Space over the 360, even as just a downscaled version, so rather than make a sequel (to which, Wii owners would not be able to follow since Dead Space wasn't on the console), a prequel is a great alternative.
@EJD: remember that DSi games won't take nearly as much space as WiiWare games do, but either way - there's still going to be SD support. I don't know whether games are playable straight from SD though - but no doubt they wouldn't take long to transfer back and forth anyway.
Although I appreciate your help, Falk Sturmfels, I'm already doing that. And anyway, your advice of "shoot", is like a football captain telling his team to kick the ball xD
Ah - but what about this comment from Dazza (comment number 46) in the LIT update article JUST LAST WEEK: "We've decided not to do a DSiWare site now, we're just going to bolt it on to WWW. Don't worry there will be separate lists to keep DSiWare from getting mixed up with WiiWare. We'll stick with our scale of 1-10 of course." So stick that up your bum hole and smoke it.
@EJD: I forgot about the pandora! Ah well, I suppose this will probably have a lot more support anyway. Also: don't forget that Nintendo may be bringing classic Game Boy titles to the DS as well.
Which brings me to another question: if the DSi had a Virtual Console, would you just go and create a new DSi site entirely for VC and DSiWare, or would you put the DSiVC on VC-Reviews?
@Mik: No, PLATTCHEN twist 'n' paint is still the most commented game review yet, but this review has now just gone and beaten the comments on World of Goo! The least commented-on reviews are Lonpos and Protothea.
Btw, just got to the highest score on level 10 (normal - screen name Billy@Wli). I am also surprised to see that in Expert mode, only one person has got a score - never mind the Ultra mode as well! Although, I suppose that when you consider the difficulty anyway, I've seen many more surprising things.
Also: I'm stuck on level 9 of the game (normal) - the one where the enemies circle around you and you only have one guy to help you. Any tips from anyone?
There isn't going to be a DSiWare-World, all DSiWare content will be featured here alongside the Wii stuff - extra convenience for the users and no need to start plugging another site all the time, you see.
As if the DSi news wasn't enough... Rhythm Heaven as well? You lucky yanks! I wonder how much it'll retail for?
ADDED: Just checked the official site and $169.99 doesn't sound like much at all when you consider what you're getting - plus, that's only (thinks for a moment) $40 more than a lite!
I'm a little disappointed by the colours though, since the blue looks awful and the little red LED on the black looks a bit out of place - here's hoping for a white model in the future!
I'd love to import one of these little beauts, but I'd need to import my Nintendo points as well, and of course it wouldn't be very useful if it broke, or if I wanted to register my Club Nintendo stars, so I think I'll wait for the European release for now. Here's hoping that Rhythm Heaven isn't going to be too far around the corner, either.
@Killraven / KDR_11k: I tend to remember people by their avatars, as I'm sure many others also do: so, which one of you two is going to change your picture first?
@StarDust: Chicken Shoot was naff. END OF. @Container1024: It will probably will keep her happy, although the Pop Up Logic mode will be a bit too complex - just don't expect to get any fun out of it yourself.
Whipping bugs is one of the most satisfying feelings I have had in a game for some time - I love it! Why does it run out of energy every so often though? Oh, and I do the same as KDR_11k.
I tried the demo of EC on Steam, and must say that whilst it didn't seem that bad, it still felt like a flash game, and wasn't nearly as polished as it could have been. Either way - that's just the demo, right?
Nice to hear some good feedback for the game, and also nice to see a good ol' bit of Luc's rage. Either way, here's hoping that (as Omega said) Atlen8 have only been making the game better and better over the last six months.
Oh and who else thinks that the opening of "First Eternity's Child Track - Child of Eternity" is slightly reminiscent of Harry Potter?
Here's what I never saw coming: "Holy crap! I haven't played Call of Duty since Friday. Onslaught has take over as my current Wii FPS shooter of choice. The on-line co-op is limited (yet still enjoyable) but the single player is awesome."
Calculon is happy, everyone!!!
@KDR_11k: When it comes to reviews, Gamecentral can be a bit iffy - although usually they are spot on (they are one of the few places that recognised Super Mario Galaxy as been better than GTA IV, and in their history have only ever given out four 10/10's). In their eyes though, a 6/10 is still "good", since they usually say that a 5/10 score is average. Either way, I was very disappointed with this review. For shame Mr Hargreaves, for shame. EDIT: Scratch that: they've now given out five 10/10's thanks to Street Fighter IV.
Thanks for the confirmation there - and I'm glad that I actually recognise the Terminator music. If it was for something else, I would feel sooo dumb right now xD
@opeter: Don't be mean - as Starwolf pointed out, it's not going to released here for a long time, if at all. And besides - don't you want some more people to play against/with on Onslaught?
What would be good would be if you could continue past levels that you play online via co-op (providing that you've already unlocked the levels in the first place, mind).
I thought these were going to be monthly, but either way - good work! Also, what's with the Terminator music for the DISASTER overview? That was a bit weird.
I've been playing this for a couple of hours this morning and have to say that it is FANTASTIC and well worth a purchase! The only thing I dislike is the repeating voice snippet that I hear whenever I kill a bunch of enemies. The main problem is that I can't hear what it's saying (something about being a kid?), but since it's only a small fault, I'll let it slide. Right now though, I'm only a third of the way through the game (I was impressed at the amount of levels - 13 - and their length. I was expecting about five at first, maybe lasting around five minutes each.).
Hudson, you done good (again).
@KDR: Onslaught is at three in the charts here, and I believe it has been since yesterday morning. Also, Pop Up Pirate is currently at 5 here...
@Bahamut ZERO: Well... almost spot on. I still think that PLATTCHEN was highly underrated, and TV Show King surely deserved at least a seven
If there was an option to play without the mini game, I would have seen it in a better light, since it is a cheaper version of the "board" game and worth spending £3.50 on. Ah well...
I can't wait to give this a whirl - but my copy hasn't arrived yet And what with all the positive reviews, I think I'm gonna cry... Once I get it though, I'll be over the moon.
@EJD: I don't know: it might not be the same in co-op as it would be in versus, but I shall see. In the meantime, I am doing a Mario Kart tourney this Friday, and a Bomberman / Tetris tournament the day after.
@BZ / OB: I see, I watched a bit of footage and read several reviews before deciding to stay away, since many different sites all had it listed as an RPG game. I may get it in future when I've got some spare points, but I still think that I'll stay away.
The thing that I was most disappointed about with it were the extra random luck-based mini game in party mode, which can't be turned off, and the way that the minesweeper style minigame is just too easy - otherwise, this might not have been so bad.
I can't wait for this: I've just got to wait until Monday morning before I can play it , but at least now I know that the wait will be worth it
@Bahamut_ZERO: Even if you hate the genres? Despite being someone with loads of WW titles, I still haven't got Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles My Life As A King. Anyone recommend this to me, despit hating RPG's?
@Drake: You think your score is good: you have to see my ranking on the Tetris Party tournament leaderboard for the co-op tourney: http://tetrisparty.com/uk_en/tournament/leaderboard I can't believe I managed to get all the way to 431!
Also: how can you say "let's forget Snowboard Riot" when it hasn't even been released here yet, meaning you can't have played it (unless you have a second Wii)? That's a bit unfair isn't it - I seem to recall KS8 really loving it, so who knows: you might, too.
@You gaise: yeah, but since I just do it in my own spare time, it doesn't get updated as much as I'd like, but I just signed up to Tesco rentals, so I can hopefully get a lot more reviews out other than just good old WiiWare. One problem... out of Bomberman 2, House of the Dead Overkill, Pikmin and Disney's Bolt, the game I am sent is... Chicken Shoot. Hmm... Oh, and WiiloveitTV is getting better as well, and I'm starting to focus less solely on WiiWare with a lot more other videos, and today I got to the number 3 spot in the UK list of most viewed reporters (no doubt thanks to the new Mario & Sonic trailer)! As for my review, I'm just happy that it gave me a chance to use the word "fallacious", since it makes me sound really clever Anyways... keeping on topic: this is a silly game.

Re: Review: Pop-Up Pirate! (WiiWare)
@Shortay: good recommendation, there! I'd also recommend Fun! Fun! Minigolf if you are okay with helping her out on some of the harder stages.
Oh - and I hear that Mega Man 9 is very "in" with the four year old's these days
Nah, just kidding - but be sure to give FFM or Pop a look.
Re: Review: Onslaught (WiiWare)
Hell there dogsoldier, and where do you buy your chips at £7.00? You should check your chippy pricing, or maybe just your metaphors
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (18th Feb)
Anybody else think it's a shame that Bubble Bobble only managed to make it to sixth in the Japanese charts?
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (18th Feb)
@Rum Rapture: yeah, I used to post them up, but recently I've been a tad too busy. Sorry, and thanks for filling my position! Welcome to WWW.

Oh - and no need to wait for the DSi here in Europe - it's due a day earlier than NA at £150! CAN. NOT. WAIT.

Anyways - it's the WWW team that's trying to confuse me instead, eh? I'm gonna blame Corbie's usual avatar antics.

Why do they make us choose?!?
If I was buying it though, I'd probably get the CD from hmv - however, I'm just gonna rent it, instead.
