Re: Matters of Import: E.X. Troopers Brings The Heat To 3DS

Weedy

It looks like a futurisic Monster Hunter, surely that's work bringing over?! Did Project X Zone make Capcom any money? (it was quite text and menu heavy so may have cost a little bit to translate) If so you would think they'd consider this an export winner.

Re: Review: Bravely Default (3DS)

Weedy

I was really looking forward to this until I played the demo. The Bravely/Default mechanic kind of breaks the random encounters since you can just max brave (x4) and oneshot everything you run into. Put the fast forward option ontop of this and you may as well not have random encounters and just give experience for walking around!!!

Re: Hardware Review: Nintendo 2DS

Weedy

Was considering getting a 2DS before reading the review since I don't use the 3d feature (my eyes just get tired with it on). I was willing to over-look the lack of a hinge/clamshell, but then you said there's no wireless switch?! I'm constantly turning my wireless on and off, to make the most of my commute through London and my battery, so burying it in a menu is no use for me. Then you say they haven't really up graded the battery, well I guess that was a cost saving measure. I'll keep hold of my ambassador 3DS for now.

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Direct Round-Up - 7th August

I for one enjoyed it, in fact I usually do enjoy the directs. I think so long as you don't set your expectations too high then you'll find them to be great little videos to enjoy over your tea break.
Anyone who can't enjoy 'Shibata's Objection' needs more joy in their heart.

Re: Hands On: Going for the Combos in Project X Zone

Weedy

I enjoyed my first playthrough of the demo although I didn't really have a clue what I was doing in the combat.
I've just finished my second playthough after reading through the very long tutorial burried in the menu and boy did it help, I destroyed the enemy and had more fun with the fighting mechanics.
One thing that it doesn't seem to mention anywhere, but that becomes quite apparent when you're trying to stratagise; you're XP gauge (think of it as a super bar) is shared between your party i.e. If one character uses it all up the next will start with an empty bar.

@Hunter-D
It was certainly worth the wait.
Like you my copy arrived yesterday from Game, I stayed up quite late last night playing it and was a little late for work this morning! But now I ahve the whole weekend ahead of me, yay.
