Some of the recent posts here are spot on, 100%. This was horribly mismanaged, crunches up a bunch of indies into a blender and just presumably throws games not covered by NL or not known by NL into a shovelware category. Not "uncategorized" or "unknown", but shovelware.

And as nice as ant was talking to me on bluesky, I still feel more confident in the recent hours that this is not a project made fully out of care. I see the eShop card affiliate links. I see the potential for popular games to get highlighted while the many obscure indies (and believe me, on Switch there are a LOT) get forever buried, pretty much like the real eShop! And none of this feels in good faith. I've seen some games undone from the filters due to backlash, but having since my last, horrid cringe post on this site (seriously, my bio is not at all who i am today, that's how long it has been since I posted here), I literally made my own review website, reviewed hundreds of obscure indie games, and still wouldn't feel confident in having the perfect discretion to blanket brand a bunch of games in the same way this shop does. Me. With ten years of writing experience. You expect a community to maintain consistent QC and not sabotage it in the way steam tags can sometimes become memes?

I'm sorry but this just makes me think even less of Nintendolife and Hookshot as a whole. This site used to cover all the obscurities on Wii U/3DS back in the day and helped me find some great gems. Phillip Reed was a masterful reviewer who I miss dearly. But I guess rather than continue that, shifting to a tabloid style is more popular and making a "better eShop" that somehow buries obscurities more than Nintendo's own store is quite the feat.

@VALERHU Yes. The last story is my favorite console RPG, but not my favorite game. Xenoblade on the other hand was a boring and MASSIVE disappointment for me considering how I waited so long for a NA release and even longer to get it for christmas

@CanisWolfred No problem, at least you aren't the kind of person who goes "ZOMG YOU LIKE THIS GAME WORLD HAS ENDED". You give your honest thoughts and I respect you for that.

@CanisWolfred I read many books recently. The Lovely Bones, Harry potter I-VI, ETC. I read a lot of books during the weekdays, so I know how to judge plot.

@Aucool It's my opinion, I love this game, I've played a ton of other amazing games in my life, (Zelda Majora's mask, Fire emblem sacred stones, Ys I and II) and this happens to take the cake for me, what's wrong with that?

I'm gonna be real honest... This is the best game and best RPG I've played in my entire life. The story has so many twists and turns and has so many sad and even violent moments I loved it all. The music is the best I heard in a game since Ys I and II PCE, And the simple gameplay helps make it a perfect game. I gave it a 10 out of 10 on gonintendo for those reasons.

BTW, if you wanna know the length from someone who does everything possible in the main story, it took me 24 hours to get through. This game is definately 10000X better than Xenoblade (Which without arts all you really did was hit a button and drop your classic controller... And even with arts it was too easy for me), and also better than the Last Story as well (Though that's a good alternate)

PS, Unskipable text isn't bad in this game, as the story is amazing, even when replaying!

PS, Capcom IS developing this as well. Wayforward and capcom are both developing.

I don't get how this got a 9 out of ten, but glad the single player is good!

And I certainly hope NL doesn't make the same dumb mistake other reviewers did with the older PMDs (One reviewer gave the red and blue PMD a bad score because they claimed there were NO attacks in the game... Meaning they didn't open the menu.)

Dead island is a bad game, so it doesn't bother me. And the reason they give was understandable. With the wii U being a next gen console, it would be a bit harder to develop for. I'm placing bets on PS4 and durango games being ported more

This is my favorite as it doesn't have a useless boss wepon like MM2 (Yes, top spin is terrible, but it can shield you from airborne enemies, kill the final boss, and makes mega man look goofy when switching screens! Unlike wood shield which did hardly any damage to bosses.)

I'm not worried. Even if the wii U gets killed by the PS4, The 3DS is still selling very well, and that caused MORE Name confusion. I actually saw a gal in target the other day who tried the wii U demo station (You know, the "worthless one with no game demos?" It's not as worthless because of videos. :3) And she bought a basic bundle after finding out netflix was on it. When more appealing things are released, we'll see a soar in sales. Wii Fit U and lego city will probably be the systen sellers.

Relax guys. The devs mentioned how they loved the wii U not long ago, and promised need for speed day one support. I'm getting this as it looks fun, and chances are the DLC will come eventually, and if not, it's no loss, really...

@XD375 Those two GG games aren't quite as bad as 06. They are not perfect, but they certainly aren't terrible.

I'm at least happy that we may get new GG games. Fun fact: If we don't get a new GG game this week or next, it'll be a entire year with no new GG VC in NA

This is looking to be the GOTY contender for 3DS... Let's just hope IGN doesn't give it a "Bad" rating just because they forgot to open the menu. I strongly recommend you all check out the demo. I can't wait for thursday!

PS3 also had these problems at launch. They were FAR worse though. Look at it now!

I logged back on just so I could give my opinion on this, and here it is:

I like the tied to one console system. You heard me, I LIKE IT.

Why? Just think about it: what if some guy hacked into your NNID and stole ALL of your games, and no one could do a thing about it? This sort of thing happens all the time on PSN and XBL, so a full account system has it's own problems. I prefer the one to a system method, but there should be a choice for those who want to be secure. While I'm no doubt gonna be thrown flames at for this, it's my honest opinion: my mother once had a windows account YEARS Ago and it was hacked, so she lost all of her apps and couldn't get them back. So that's why I prefer the current method.

As for the guy's choice? Dumb. He should have called NOA to get a repair, if his system ever broke anyway (Since I hear that a few of these brick reports are fabricated), instead of returning it. That's his fault.

@rayword45 Not really. In the original you had very messy graphics and text for your health. In this version it's cleaned up and you have a life bar

I think this WAY better than the original contra, which is probably why it didn't get rereleased. Japan did get the MSX Version though.

I thought it was mostly crud. Zelda Wind waker and the VC are the best parts, but everything else was bad.

Seriously, DID GOOD-FEEL HAVE to be the ones who made Yarn yoshi? Kirby's epic yarn was too freaking easy, and they BETTER put a hard mode in this game, or at least punish you for death.

Wii U party would be all Right, and the VC lineup is OK. (Personally, I'm glad F-zero is taking the place of Fire emblem)... BUT WHY THE HECK DID WE NOT GET EB? Punch-out is the worst possible game they could replace it with. Why not Super mario world SNES with better controls? Link to the past? ANYTHING BUT PUNCHOUT!!!

@Nibelilt But for 100% completionists, that would mean you'd have to buy every figure and max their level. That's insane.

On disc DLC isn't really bad. I NEVER felt that anything was wrong with it, as it just was something extra that wasn't required to beat the game.

But this on the other hand is insane. No game should cost over 200 dollars to 100%.

This is NOT a hard item to save up for. My christmas 3DS games and eshop downloads gave me a whopping 700 coins, so this was easy to get. The notebooks are 150 coins cheaper and no one complains about those, so why this?
