Re: Nintendo Reveals "The Master Trials", the First DLC Pack for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

@GoldenGamer88 I just finished 100%ing. Did you find your two missing maps?

I struggled on two Koroks (missed them on the map I was using), and afterward had 99.1%.

I used the edit function on Zelda Dungeons interactive map to find a list of tags to figure if it was any of the stuff that only shows at the maxed zoomed in level. It was not. But what I learned from this is that there are only a few tags which ONLY appear on maximum zoom:

Some Hyrule Castle and Castle Town ones (which most map completionists know).

The three bridges on the very south edge of Akkala I mentioned to you a few weeks ago.

Stolock Bridge over Goron Village.

Sarjon Bridge and Guchini Plain Barrows just west of Lakeside Stable.

Gama Cove east of Lurelin Village. It has a Tallus in.

That's it. Ultimately I scowered two maps and missed what I was missing twice. A YouTube video made a point of pointing out what I was missing: Shadow Hamlet Ruins on the south east slope of Death Mountain, overlooking Shadow Pass.

Hopefully you're missing two of those, ig indeed you're still missing any. Good luck!

@GoldenGamer88 That's ok. I have a ridiculous capacity for monotony, so I reckon Id be dead good at it.

I have the official guide, with the completionist poster. I have noticed the odd incorrect piece of information in the guide itself, so I cant be certain the poster is infallible. Of course it may be no help whatsoever as you may have simply missed something you thought you had, or something daft like that, but heres a few thoughts I had having studied the map for 10 minutes:

Hyrule Castle is rammed with map names.

Theres a cluster of islands in the wetlands in the western Lanayru region that I myself thought I had explored fully, but had missed one.

Today I noticed a tiny little bridge on the map near the Coliseum called "Gleeok Bridge" Id never been to.

These arent actually marked on the map, which makes me think I imagined it / hoped it was the case, but there are three bridges in a row on the central southern boarder of Akkala. I swear they had names when I went out of my way to cross them.

A lot of named peaks in central Hebra.

East Reservoir Lake? I havnt checked if I myself have it but perhaps you only get that map tag if you return and swim in it after the divine beast?

Those are just a few thoughts. Sadly could be literally any two youre missing.

@GoldenGamer88 I've seen your comments about this for a month or more. I really, really want to help you out because I feel certain I'll be in the same position once I've done all the Koroks, but I cant really think of a good way to do it.

As for this DLC package, say what you will about Nintendo (and I am quite vocally against many of their more well-known follies), I'm pleased to say that I reckon that DLC is one thing that they are continuing to do very, very right.

Re: Say Bye-Bye to BoxBoy on 23rd March in Europe

Subtle24

Doesn't the amiibo unlock Game Boy mode and add Qucy? Which the press release says is done with data from both previous games. Thus all functionality for the Qbby amiibo has been removed. So theres no point in owning the amiibo. Besides it being cute as hell.

Re: Delivery Issues Spoil Nintendo Switch Launch Day for Unlucky UK Buyers

Subtle24

Amazon got my console to me on time (Ill have been one of the first preorders, 07:02 the day preorders opened), despite scaring the hell out of me and only dispatching it at 22:42 on the Thursday! (Good work guys, very pleased!)

Game got my amiibo to me on the day.

Argos got the games to me.

Nintendo UK store hadnt even dispatched my peripherals on Saturday morning. I cancelled the lot, individually, painstakingly as trying to cancel the entire order at once kept error messaging.

Went out and bought what I could from Argos (most of it in fairness), and the rest came today from Amazon.

So, good work Nintendo. Glad to see you plan to continue to treat your customers with the utter contempt we're accustomed to.

Frankly amazed the release being pushed back for Half Genie Hero in the last few months didnt cause it to get moved to Switch.

Then again, now I can double dip and buy the full priced enhanced port of it where she has a spunky new hat.

Re: Yooka-Laylee Rattles Away From Wii U Release

Not happy at all. I'm still extremely butthurt about all this porting business. I'm among the ranks of those who feel like its a "thanks for sticking with us when we messed up a second time, now buy it all again", and am currently very against buying another gamepad, portable or not. Yooka-Laylee was pretty much the last thing I was looking forward to.

Re: Pokémon GO's Nearby Tracking Feature Now Live In The UK

Subtle24

@FiveDigitLP I'm pleased to report that when I woke up this morning the tracking seems to be working in my area. Hopefully yours does/will too. When I travelled further afield near a Pokestop it would only show me one Ratatta near there when I enlarged the screen, despite me still being able to see a second Ratatta and a Meowth when it was minimised, so sightings are still not working near pokestops, but hopefully its all just a glitch, and not how the new system is meant to work at all, thankfully.

Re: Pokémon GO's Nearby Tracking Feature Now Live In The UK

@DanteSolablood I appreciate what youre saying, I really do. Damned if they do and damned if they don't.

What Im saying is, the "sightings" feature is still there. Its not been totally removed, like the footsteps were. Id just like it to work like it did when there are no Pokestops even on the map. The Pokestop addition means little to me, but I can see why others can make excellent use of it.

I presume there is a reason for the change, but it is extremely detremental to my own ability to play the game. Even the ability to switch between the two systems would sate me, if they couldnt get it to work as on cohesive system.

As for the viability of hunting grounds, I live in a large English town, 20 minutes to travel straight across by car, but no particularly large clusters of pokestops anywhere. The largest one I can think of is 3, with a fourth close by.

Most of the places in town are not that reliable for anything not a pidgey, but, for whatever reason, in the half mile of estate I live on, and over the last few months, I have consistantly been able to catch Omanyte, Kabutos, Dratinis, Charmanders, Squirtles, many of the pokemon in the 120s, as well as a huge variety of others.

In fact the only "normal" two and three stage evolutions I dont have many at all of are Growlithe, Grimer, Geodude and Poliwag.

My point is the majority of my hunting has been done by walking around my estate for an hour or so a day. I can continue to do that of course. The new system just makes it much harder to know what Im going to stumble on.

Re: Pokémon GO's Nearby Tracking Feature Now Live In The UK

Subtle24

I dont understand the praise? From what I've read, and my own experience today, for the 90% of people that don't live in the centre of a major city with an abundance of Pokestops, the game is virtually unplayable now.

Before I would reliably get 4-9 sightings around my home area, and moving only 20 or 30 metres would refresh what was in the area. In practise, I could frequently guess which rarer Pokemon would spawn at what spawn point.

This morning Im getting no sightings until I'm on top of the Pokemon and they have actually spawned. In many cases Pokemon who have spawned and are still close enough to be caught disappear from the sightings if a nearby spawnpoint is available.

Effectively, in areas without massive clusters of Pokestops, ie, everywhere in at least a 30 mile radius of me, and most likely the vast majority of the surface of the Earth no less, you've gone from being able to see what is roughly in your vacinity with no way of narrowing it down, to being completely blind to what is available until you are on top of it.

Which is the opposite of a tracking system.

Re: The Club Nintendo Goodbye Coin Has, Well, Said Goodbye

Subtle24

I've been keeping an eye out for this item since March. I have been checking periodically, and I checked every day for the last fortnight except yesterday, because I knew that the exact moment it went live that exactly this would happen. I understand it came out Wednesday? So how did I miss it? It's just one last kick in the balls from Nintendo for me. I have absolutely no idea why I keep giving them money.

Edit: Oh, and look, despite the schedule saying that stars could still be earned until 30th September, none of the Club Nintendo pages are up anymore, so I cant register 5 games Ive bought recently, so that's 1250 stars I have, in time, and cant spend.

I sincerely hope this "replacement", whatever it is, is managed a hell of a lot better than Club Nintendo ever was.
