The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild continues to offer up some pretty amazing secrets, and the latest one we've seen involves a pretty unique way of getting around Hyrule.
YouTuber mety333 has posted footage of a unusual flying machine created from a metal box and a mine cart, both found in the Death Mountain region. As you can see from the footage above, the box is placed inside the cart and Link then climbs on top. Using the Magnesis Rune, it's possible to lift the cart up into the air and eventually reach the game's invisible ceiling, way above Death Mountain itself.
From here, you can paraglide to anywhere on the map - although you'll need plenty of stamina (and stamina-restoring items) if you're planning on taking an extended flight.
UPDATE: Our very own Alex Olney has created his own video on this topic, which is also worth a look:

Totally awesome! Amazing what people can do on the game. I have seen a video on someone riding a Guardian like a mount. Done it too and was awesome.
Well then, I know what I'm trying out tonight.
Eating while gliding. LOL
WEEEEE....!!!
Damien is the winners of the switch competition being announced today?
@Stubi we still don't know what 'new map feature' is going to be.
I'm hoping for a bridge across the northern canyon but loftwings could work.
They might tie it to the upcoming skyward sword amiibo though.
@BensonUii That's a good one!
And i thought i was smart using rafts and the octo balloons ......
@Stubi I've been wishing for a Loftwing in BotW ever since 2014!
It would be "OP" as you could reach any peak with it, but they could make it really hard to get (as in you can only get it from the highest peak and have to do a ridiculous side quest to obtain it) or it could be an un-registerable mount.
My kid tells me he's been doing something similar in BK: Nuts and Bolts but this looks easier to control.
Too bad there isn't an easier way to fly and get up high. I know it's not an advanced civilization but surely somebody could invent hot air balloon travel. Nothing says "breath of the wild" like a hot air balloon ride.
The experimentation is strong in this game.
I once launched myself across a huge gap on a rock and lucky discovered a great fairy fountain.
@Moshugan I like you're thinking, I'm still kind of disappointed that there isn't an actual method of flight "up" rather than just gliding down.
As for your OP problem, they probably could have put in some kind of sensor at each mountain top that could only be triggered by first climbing up there. Until you climb up there high mountain tops could be circled by a strong wind that you can't fly through. They could have even added actual shrines that control the wind that you need to solve to turn the high winds off. I think Wind Waker had something along those lines. Or maybe it was "Land of the Lost".
I just feel a game titled "breath of the wild" sorely under utilizes the breath aspect. Should have called it Scaling or Climbing the wild. "Lost in the Wild" kind of works.
On the bright side, they'll be updating the game at least twice, summer and holiday, so there's always hope. You play FFXV? Spoiler, but after you beat the final boss they finally give you a method of travel that would work in Zelda so you can continue playing and doing the many side quests. After Link beats Ganonforf, or however the game ends been trying to avoid spoilers myself, they could have given Link the power of flight for continued exploration and getting the 900 seeds.
@RadioHedgeFund I little bit unfair to thoses who do not use amiibo ...
I will try this tonight!!!
@liljmoore stasis-ing a boulder and climbing on is still my favourite way to travel! Found the Spring of Power that way 😂
Unrelated comment: I wish they did a sequel with the same engine, but dungeon oriented. Less overworld, more puzzles.
It would create a perfect balance, like Ocarina and Majora's did back in the day.
Amazing! You think you've seen it all and there's still new discoveries being made.
@Anti-Matter
And changing clothes
I saw someone do the same thing and going much higher. He eventually got kicked off by hitting the ceiling of the skybox and then glided all the way to Satori Mountain.
Interesting. Usually you can't lift any item with magnesis if you're standing on it (I actually tried that a few times). But apparently, if there is another item between you and the item you want to lift, it works. I have to try that!
@Stubi Yeah I seriously hope Loftwings will come with the DLC, they just belong in Botw!
@shani @Stubi
Loftwings are cool, but with this Hyrule being so detailed the pop-in effects while flying around will be even worse than they are right now while just gliding. I'm glad we have horses to get around faster. It's a lot more unique and engaging feeling than just flying around.
@rjejr Kilton has a hot air balloon.
@Stubi This game has the scope that SS should have had, and SS should have been the game the Wii launched with (with 1:1 controls).
@liljmoore
Hmm...do you mind telling me WHERE?
This is SO COOL
@Subtle24 Can we kill him and take his balloon so we can travel around faster? Or pay him to take us around? Or borrow it form him?
You know, I think I remember seeing a screenshot of that way back when but nobody ever talked about it, so I'm guessing it's just for show.
Oh well, thanks for the info.
Haha, so cool! What a game! I wonder if you can also fly this way. He only went up, but maybe you can also go in different directions.
The only thing laking in the game with exception of dungeons are side quests wich allows Link to date side characters like Paya or Sidon.
