This new Kirby game on the Wii looks pretty dang good. @Bell - I still remember news about the new DS Kirby title, but unfortunately I feel that the thread you're searching for is lost in a sea of pages.
Super Mario Land is decent, imo, though I admit it's got its flaws (tiny sprites). I did like how it played like a shmup in a couple of levels (pretty unique aspect of the series if you ask me).
@FantasiaWHT - you're not the only one who misread the title the first time around. When I played this game for the first time years ago, I read the game's title as Exed Eyes.
Oh, look, Exed Exes, the seemingly endless vertical shmup made by Capcom. I say "seemingly" because I actually did try to get to the end, but I only stopped somewhere in one of the teen stages, so I have no idea if it actually has an ending.
It's not so much of a problem going through Super Ghouls'n Ghosts twice, imo, I've done it many times. I've yet to do it in Ghouls'n Ghosts; at least, I will anyway once I beat that boss in the fifth stage. I am far from reaching Ghosts'n Goblins' second quest.
Good review, Drake. The first GnG title is decent, though its sequels (save for Ultimate Ghosts'n Goblins, which I thought was a tad disappointing) I find much better. I still need to beat the second stage of this game.
@Swerd - Super Ghouls'n Ghosts' difficulty is incredibly overrated, imo. It's one of those games that becomes easier for me the more I play it, but I still love it.
@MeloMan - The 7th Saga (Elnard in Japan) was developed by Produce [the developers behind the first Super Adventure Island and Brain Lord], not Quintet; but it was published by Enix.
I hope someone from Square-Enix is reading all these comments.
@pikmaniac - the first game is said to have given gamers blisters due to (a) certain mini-game(s) that involved rotating the Control Stick using the palm of their hands.
This was one of the first ever SNES titles I've played when I was little (maybe the first, but considering I also played Super Mario World and Super Mario Kart, I can't remember exactly). This was the first time I've ever experienced the NES and Famicom Disk System Mario classics. Fun compilation, this one.
Great review, Corbie. I remember playing the first two Mario Party games a lot with my cousins when I was little. Welcome to NintendoLife, CHRISZ0626. As for which Metroid game you should start out with, I (and I'm sure many others would agree) highly recommend Super Metroid. It's got a map, and it has a lot more action feautres and is a lot more enjoyable than the first game, imo.
Three years ago Square-Enix released ActRaiser (Quintet/Enix) on the VC. You would think that they would release the other Quintet/Enix line-up of games, too; but it hasn't happened. The VC is a chance for some to catch up with and experience the classics (for instance: some, like myself, own an SNES console, but not everyone does), and I feel they're blowing a big opportunity by not releasing them [Quintet/Enix games]. Sometimes I worry that Square completely forgot that they merged with Enix less than a decade ago.
Terranigma has been on my wishlist for a long time (it's right at the top).
@Cheezy - the first game had some mini games that would give you blisters apparently. I don't remember ever getting blisters from playing the first game, although that's probably because I haven't played the first game in forever.
I'm still a bit uncertain about getting the SNES version. On one hand, if I did buy it I would finally own a version of the game and not play it solely whenever I come to visit my relatives in Italy. On the other hand, I'm a bit worried about whether the SNES version is gonna be as good as the PSX version or not (too much fondness for the PSX version).
Good review, Jamie. I only played the PlayStation version (back when I still lived in Italy and when I come to visit) of this game (which was only released in Europe and Australia; why wasn't it released in America, too? ), and I thought it was a great and underrated, imo, game. The visuals in that version were splendid, and the soundtrack marvelous. I still need to beat Hard mode, though.

Dude, that looks sweet!!!!
Re: Super Mario 64 is a 5-Minute Adventure With the Right Tools
Hello, mario300, welcome to NintendoLife.
Re: Review: 1942 (Virtual Console / Virtual Console Arcade)
Good review.
1942 is okay, but not worth revisiting tbh. I do concur that the sequels are way better; particularly 1941: Counter Attack.
Re: Nintendo Reveals New Kirby Platformer for Wii in 2011
This new Kirby game on the Wii looks pretty dang good.
@Bell - I still remember news about the new DS Kirby title, but unfortunately I feel that the thread you're searching for is lost in a sea of pages.
Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - January 2011
Which game would you like to see Square Enix bring to the west next?
SoulBlazer
Re: Design the Official T-Shirt for Team Chien!
Are you gonna do those articles with a black background and white text from now on, or is this a one-time only thing?
Re: Review: R-Type (Game Boy)
Thanks, Lu.
Re: Review: R-Type (Game Boy)
Good review. Sounds like a decent conversion of the arcade game.
But, I have the PC-Engine version on the Virtual Console.
Re: Review: Black Tiger (Virtual Console / Virtual Console Arcade)
I as well pretty much prefer Magic Sword, but this game is not bad.
Good review, Drake.
Re: First Impressions: 3DS Virtual Console
Super Mario Land is decent, imo, though I admit it's got its flaws (tiny sprites). I did like how it played like a shmup in a couple of levels (pretty unique aspect of the series if you ask me).
Re: Nintendo Download: 21st January 2011 (Europe)
Oh, 1942 got released, too, I just noticed that. I think it's okay.
Re: Nintendo Download: 21st January 2011 (Europe)
Black Tiger is easier, yes.
I like it, though I find some of the sound effects out of place for this type of game, imo.
Re: Pac-Man Returns to Our TV Screens Via Unscripted Series
@Tasuki - I remember knowing about the cereal from playing Namco Museum Vol. 1 on the PlayStation.
Re: Pac-Man Returns to Our TV Screens Via Unscripted Series
Fascinating.
I remember watching the '80s Hanna-Barbera Pac-Man cartoon years ago, and I thought it was good. Hopefully this new series will be good.
Re: Review: Exed Exes (Virtual Console / Virtual Console Arcade)

Re: Review: Exed Exes (Virtual Console / Virtual Console Arcade)
Good review, Drake. Glad to know that it actually does reach an end. And I pretty much concur about many things in the review.
I'll take this game over Magician Lord any day.
Re: Features: Nintendo Life Reader's Choice Awards 2010
Sonic Colors was released everywhere in 2010 after all. How did it not get nominated, I wonder?
Re: Nintendo Download - 14th January 2011 (Europe)
Magical Drop III's fun.
Re: Review: Ghosts 'n Goblins (Virtual Console / Virtual Console Arcade)
@berzerker99 - good eye, man. The true title, however, is Ghosts'n Goblins, as far as I'm concerned.
Re: Nintendo Download: 10th January 2011 (North America)

Re: Features: Nintendo Life Reader's Choice Awards 2010
@SonicMaster - it's not out in Europe and Australia yet.

Re: Features: Nintendo Life's Game of the Year 2010 Awards
Super Mario Galaxy 2 won the vote for best overall game of 2010, I see.
Re: Features: Nintendo Life Reader's Choice Awards 2010
I voted for Wii Kirby's Epic Yarn and DS Sonic Colors.
It is nice to see that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won.
Re: Nintendo Download: 7th January 2011 (Europe)

Re: Review: Mario Party 2 (Virtual Console / Nintendo 64)
@CaptN - I knew that, but I had a hard time putting that into words.
Re: Man Steals Game Boy from Casket at Funeral, Turns Himself In
That's horrible.
Sad to hear about that teen's death.

Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - January 2011
May 2011 hopefully be the year that games like SoulBlazer, Illusion of Gaia, and the rest of the Quintet/Enix titles finally hit the VC.
If anyone from Square-Enix is reading any of the comments,
please make it happen!!!

Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - January 2011
Come to think of it, not a single Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest game has been released on the VC anywhere.

Re: Brawl Brothers
Looks good.
Re: Review: Mickey Mania (Super Nintendo)
Mickey's got no tail in this game, I've always noticed that.
Re: Put Your Mario Party Hats On This Monday, North America
@Blaketoberfest - it's not coming.

Re: Put Your Mario Party Hats On This Monday, North America
Nice. I remember having lots of fun when I played Mario Party 2 with my cousins several years ago.
Re: Review: Darius Twin (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)
Good review, Corbie. I'm still interested, even if it's said to be easy.
Re: Review: Super Bonk 2 (Super Nintendo)
@superlink64 - That's funny, I never noticed that until you brought it up, lol.
Re: S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team
This kind of resembles Capcom's Forgotten Worlds a bit.
Re: Review: Mickey Mania (Super Nintendo)
Again, I wish the PlayStation version was released in America, too.
